FF8 crash at odd spot

Alright, I have tried a few different eboots of FF8, all of which say "Does not crash" (of course) and when I go to do the first real mission (after the fire caves to get iffrit) as soon as I get off the boat and go up the stairs, the characters look up to see some enemies and then battle starts. However, on every eboot I try, my game always crashes when the charecters look up, before battle even starts. I have tried all of my popsloaders, and have no idea whats up. I know at fmvs it can crash unless you use 3.71 and drawing magic can be a problem if not using 3.90 but i cant ever find anything about random spots like this to freeze... Any ideas?

Also, for some reason every eboot I try has some kind of cheat activated so Squall always has his limit break and can not take damage... Is there maybe a file stored somewhere on my memory stick allowing this to happen and possibly also causing my game to freeze?

I would just say wait till sony releases it on PSN and buy it then since there good at fixing the bug's lol

It's available on the jpn PSN so just hope it comes here

If they all say "Does Not Crash" then its most likely the same eboot, just passed around through every torrent and piracy site.

Just buy the game. Or downgrade to 3.71 M33 or 3.80 M33.

i have also problems with this game, the drawing/casting magics especially scan, quistis' limit break, and when bosses uses their abilities/specials... the
game lock-up/freezes is this game really works on psp? i'm using 5.00 m33-4
cfw and popsloader version 5.00, oh! btw the game is ntsc multidisc..
please i don't want to downgrade my psp, and when will be the umd available?
english version ofcourse..
i would really appreciate your comments or suggestions... ^_^

I found my problem, the kid who modded my psp installed a cheats file that made squall invincible and always able to do his limit break. I held select until the cheats menu came up, disabled all cheats, and played the game and it ran perfectly. I am on the 4th disc now with no problems (besides having to switch between 3.90 and 3.71 popsloaders whenever a big fmv plays). Thanks for the suggestions guys
