Help with running emulators on CFW

Hi guys,

I have just recently upgraded to 5.0 M33-6 and now when I try to run my NesterJ (NES emulator) and SNESTYL (SNES Emulator) they don't work and I get that error message that the game can't be played.

I'm told I need a 1.50 add on for the CFW and goku2778 has been a great help but I still can't get it to work as the 1.50 add on I downloaded keeps telling me that the 150.PBP file (that I need to place in the root of the stick) is non existent.

Can anyone help so I can run the emulators? It's pretty much the only thing I play!

Heya guys, I'm new to this forums.

HELP! I have a PSP 3000, upgraded it to ver. 5.03 last week. The manager tells me to charge it before it goes low battery and you shouldn't hold too long the power button.

The rampage begins here. I suddenly hold the power button long enough, and when I open it again, I see that black screen with the "Sony Computer Entertainment" in words. Then when I check the games section, it said "There was no games", I was really pissed off. Is anything I could do to bring them back? Please help.:(

sorry if this has been discussed. couldn't find any useful info using google or searching this forum.

i've successfully loaded chickhen and 5.03 gen-a/5.03 gen-b plenty of times before. however, i recently started trying to put cxmb's on my psp. i got the psptouch ctf to work fine, but then i wanted to see what the ipsp os x ctf looked like. after i installed that and went to apply the custom theme, my psp froze and shut down. when it rebooted, the xmb menu/functions were the same as the original but the mac os x picture was in the background and it was back to the ofw 5.03.

i've deleted all custom themes and successfully got my psp to reboot in chickhen, but i can't get 5.03 gen-a to load anymore. when i press () to reboot in cfw the screen turns black, freezes, then shuts off. this has never happened before and i'm not sure what the problem is.

any help?

How to update your OE firmware to the latest.

editing due to posts on this thread and a few things were made more clearly and other ways were noted:

initially, follow Killer's guide to using hellcats recovery flasher. follow his steps and be sure to follow which steps go with which firmware you're running:
http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-software-guides/59222-guide-how-use-hellcats-recovery-flasher.html

if for any odd reason you're unable to run the hellcats and think you need another route, here's another way to do so:

i'm revising a guide from stylemo with updated links and steps to getting to 5.00m33-6 and also to 5.50gen-D2:

m33 installer pack needed
4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download 3.52 M33 CFW pack www.igizmore.blogspot.com.rar (http://www.4shared.com/file/30991529/f7c987/353_M33_CFW_pack_wwwigizmoreblogspotcom.html)

3.52m33-4 update needed
PSP Downloads | 3.52 M33-4 Update (http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1231)

guide:

Connect your PSP to your computer. Open folder from m33 installer pack extracted download, then copy the M33CREATOR folder to your *“ms0:/PSP/GAME150″*. Disconnect your PSP from your computer then on the XMB menu go to GAMES > Memory Stick and execute 3.52 M33 CREATOR. For noobs, the screen will normally go black so don’t panic. Once the process is finished it will automatically go back to the XMB.On your XMB, go again to GAMES > Memory Stick on your PSP, and execute 3.52 M33UPDATE. You’ll have to press X at your own risk to agree to the installation. Don’t you turn off your PSP until the process is complete or you’ll end up bricking it. When finished, you’ll have to press X again and reboot your PSP manually. Reboot by turning of your PSP and then turning it on again. You’ll then have a 3.52 M33 PSP. You can now delete the M33CREATOR folder form your “ms0:/PSP/GAME” folder on your PSP.

Open the "update" folder from the m33-4 download and then copy M33Update4 folder to mso:/PSP/GAME150. On your XMB menu go to GAMES > Memory Stick then execute the update. After the update you will be back on the XMB and you now have 3.52 M33-4 PSP. Delete the M33Update4 folder from mso:/PSP/GAME150.

once you're running 3.52m33-4, let's jump to 5.00 m33-6:

ok, download the hellcats from my sig
download the 500.pbp file from my sig

extract the hellcats files...you're only concerned about the "recovery" folder
place the 500.pbp file into the "recovery" folder
place the "recovery" folder into your game folder: psp>game>recovery
ok, now restart your psp into recovery mode (power down completely by holding up the power button, restart while holding R)
go to configurations, make sure it's set to 3xx kernel, not, NOT 1.5 kernel

now go to your games, after you set the kernel and exit...run hellcats like any other game
it should say target firmware 5.00
then under it, it should say install m33 version of selected
then install it...also choose it to reset your defaults for best installation

for those wanting to go to 5.50gen-D2:

download the installer labeled D in my sig...says use 1st
just place the 550 file, rename it to this 1st: 550.pbp, in the root of your memory stick (that's where you see the seplugins folder, psp folder...just place it there in the open with those folders, not in any of them)
place the GenDinstaller in your game folder like anything else, let it run, install and reboot
then download the D2 updater in my sig, run it just the same as you've been doing, it's a quick updater and will go fast...that's it! lol

check your system settings after and should say "5.50gen-D2"
