Hi Everyone,

I am new to this so please be patient. I have tried to find a post explaining how to set up my psp to use emulators and I have tried a few things but I keep getting corrupted data messages.

I am running on Version 6.60 (I have seen in many posts people being asked which version they are using so I thought it would be good to offer the information right away...)

Is there is step by step guide on how to do this somewhere on this site?

Can someone provide me with the different files i have to download and where to save them to play NES, SNES and Genesis emulators?

Thank you in advance.

I just installed a custom firmware on my PSP yesterday, PRO CFW 6.60 C2, and a GBA Emulator, whose download can be found in this page bLaDezTheEpic: Play Pokemon on PSP and How to Install GBA emulator.

Everything was going smoothly until today, when I was playing Pokemon Emerald on it. The game suddenly froze and crashed, making my PSP turn off. I had and still do have trouble turning it on again, because, if I'm not quick enough to open the "Fast Recovery" option under GAME, in the memory stick, it'll freeze and crahs and turn off again. And even when I managed to be quick enough, I tried re-oppening the emulator, and I even got to play the game a bit more, but like five minutes after starting playing it froze and crashed again.

I've looked all over the internet but I haven't found any problem quite like this and even the ones that were similar didn't have much responses. I'm starting to fear I may not be able to play on my PSP ever again, and I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me, please. This completely ruined my day.

I'm not sure who to contact regarding this. I mainly just wanted to let others know;

I spent a few days using Homer's RIN 3.2 Emulator and unfortunately lost half of my save. I was playing a Pokemon Crystal rom and I saved correctly halfway through. Picking it up again a few minutes later, I continued playing for a good five hours, after which I once again saved. Sadly, when looking to make sure the save was there, I discovered my progress in those hours was completely gone. After a bit, I figured out it was because rather than returning to my home screen after saving the game in the emulator, I just turned off my PSP, which resulted in the data loss.

So in short: when you save, you can't just shut off your PSP, you have to return to your home screen first, or all of your data is lost.

This might be a known bug which could've even been fixed in 3.3. It might even be a normal feature. But I just wanted to let others know so they don't make the stupid error I made. I felt pretty bad about it, because I had made so much progress.

Thanks.

Hey guys, I've just joined the forum for help with this challenge I have. Apologies if I'm repeating anything that's been said before. I couldn't find anything from my brief look.

I've recently purchased a PSP go 6.60 version. I've downloaded the pro update and pro recovery software, and sucessfully downloaded the CPS1/CPS2 emulators (I'm using the machine to initially run old arcade games).

I've come across a problem. Whenever I try to run a game, it starts with the screen with loading text scrolling down, but then at the bottom it says "could not open cache file. Press any button" and boots me out. I've tried a few titles and it's the same with all of them. So i'm wondering what it is that I'm not doing correctly. I created a cache folder and dropped it into the CPS2 folder (I read somewhere to do that) but nothing.

So....can anyone help me out with this matter? I'm almost there, but me being completely computer illiterate doesn't help. Any help at all will be appreciated.

Hello,

I just got a new PSP e1004 (psp street) and I can't run a snes emulator on it (snes is the only one I tried though, I just got it). I installed 6.60 PRO MODC1 and after that I tried with ME 1.8. With 6.60 PRO I have a blackscreen when I'm trying to launch s9xtyl or Euphoria. With ME 1.8 the Game directory is empty when I launch the LCFW (I can see both the launcher and the emulator in the game directory before I launch the LCFW). I put the emulator files into PSP/GAME as it's supposed to be. My card is magic gate compatible. Am I doing something wrong ? I guess there is nothing wrong with the console itself as I tried to listen to music with it as a test, and it worked perfectly well.

Thks for the help !

EDIT : I tried to run a PSP .cso file aswell, same shit... The console even shut down on its own after a few seconds !

I hope this is the correct forum to post this in. I looked around but didn't see anything about this problem.

Long story short, my PSP used to emulate games with no problem. But for some reason now they run incredibly slowly, around 1 frame per second. I have no idea what caused it or how to go about fixing it so I am hoping some of you guys have more wisdom. Here is some more detailed information.

I modded my PSP (3001) with Pro-C 6.20 about six months ago and it's been emulating games just great. I had not used it in a few weeks, but got a hankering for Castlevania. My old copy of Dracula X Chronicles no longer works so I sought out a CSO. When I went to load it up, the game took a really long time to start and then only ran at about 1 frame per second. I just figured it was a crappy rom.

But then I went to boot up one of the GBA Castlevanias I had been playing through only a couple weeks prior and it had the same problem. I then tried the Genesis emulator and it has the same problems. The PSP still runs MP3s just fine, but it doesn't seem to be able to run games at all.

The one odd thing I have noticed is that there have been times when I have pressed some buttons unaware (usually putting it in my pocket forgetting to flip the hold switch) and found the PSP has brought up a menu listing things like clock speed etc. Other times I have done something that caused the whole screen to be shaking. In both cases I've just taken out the battery, rebooted and it's been fine. Also the PSP hasn't done any of these things since I was playing it last.

But still I wonder if I somehow changed the clock speed without realizing it. But that's just because it's the only thing I can think of. Can anyone help or give advice? I'd love to have it working again.
