Hello friends,

I recently bought a psp 3000 with a CFW so that I can play downloaded games through my memory stick. And I think the version is 6.60.Now what I recently heard is that if I turn off my psp completely then the chances are that I lose the hack.Is that actually a true thing? And can anyone tell me easy way(I would prefer a video guide please) so that even if my hack is completely removed I can install it myself properly?I am very unknown to psp hacking and the psp was hacked right from the start so please help me.And can there be a hack so that the hack is permanent right in my psp rather than me having to have the CFW in each and every memory stick of mine?

How to install PRO CFW for the ULTIMATE NOOB

I WILL NOT BE HELP RESPONSIBLE IF THIS WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE WHETHER YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS PROPERLY OR NOT, THIS METHOD COMES WITH NO GUARANTEE AND MUST BE USED BY YOUR OWN RISK, BY DOING THIS, YOU'LL VOID YOUR WARRANTY, MOST LIKELY NOTHING WILL GO WRONG, BUT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Turn on your PSP by pushing the lever on right side of the PSP up

Go to settings which is on the left of the XMB by pressing Left on your psp (this is the main menu of the PSP)

Scroll down to “system settings” using the up and down buttons

Click the X button to enter it (or if you live in Asia, it’s O)

Scroll down to “system information”, this is the 2nd last option. Note down what version you have.

If you have either version 6.20 or 6.35 or 6.39 or 6.60, skip the next step.

If you have any other version than what is mentioned above, go back to settings, go all the way to the top, and choose “system update”, follow the instructions from there and you’ll get updated to 6.60.

Depending on what your version is, using your mouse click the links below (this is C-2):
6.20:
https://code.google.com/p/procfw/dow...q=#makechanges

6.35:
https://code.google.com/p/procfw/dow...q=#makechanges

6.39
https://code.google.com/p/procfw/dow...q=#makechanges

6.60
https://code.google.com/p/procfw/dow...q=#makechanges

You will be redirected to a page, in the middle is a download button, click on it with your mouse.

Save it to your desktop

Wait for it to download

You should have WinRAR installed on your computer if your running Windows, if you’re on a Mac, just double click the file to extract it.

(Download WinRAR from here:
WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files)

Extract all the files into a folder
Back to your PSP, on your XMB, go to settings and choose USB connection, and press the X button to enter USB mode (or O if you’re in Asia)

Plug in your USB cord, the small end goes into the top of the PSP, and the big end goes into your computer, if you don’t have one, use a Memory stick adapter and remove the MS from the left side of the PSP
Back to your computer, open the contents of the folder of your PSP (a window should show up)

Using your mouse, double click into the folder “PSP”

And using your mouse again, double click on the folder “GAME”

Now you should be in the directory /PSP/GAME

Go back to the files you extracted before from the site a few steps ago

Open the folder that says “PSP”

Open the folder in that folder that says “GAME”

Drag your mouse over the 3 files that are there (if your running 6.35 there will only be 2)

And drag those files into you other window which was your PSP’s folder which should have been in the “GAME” directory

Sit back and wait for it to copy

Wait…

You should have these new directories:
/PSP/GAME/PROUPDATE/
/PSP/GAME/Fast recovery/
/PSP/GAME/CIPL_Flasher/

When it’s done, remember to safety eject your PSP, go to the bottom right corner of your Desktop, right click with your mouse, and click the little green icon, another window will open, click the safety eject button and select your PSP's MS.

Go back to your PSP, using the LEFT button, go to the game section, and press DOWN unitl you reach a MS icon, enter it
You should see 3 new files there:

PROUPDATE – This is what is used to install the CFW

Fast Recovery – if you’re not running permanent, you will require to launch this file upon to boot to activate CFW

CIPL_Flasher OR Permanent Bootloader – this is for making the CFW active upon boot (aka, permanent)

First launch the file called “Pro update”

Wait for it to start

Click the X button

Wait…

When finished, press X again

Your PSP will reboot into CFW

Follow the sub categories now:

PSP 1000
*With these there are no risks, launch the CIPL_Flasher, and press X, which will install Permanent, If you’re running 6.20, this is a alternative installer based on the CIPL_flasher (but I bet you don’t care, as it results in the same thing), with this, you will be asked to do a test run, You can do it, but it’s not necessary on 1000 models
PSP 2000

*With these, if your motherboard is a TA088v3, you will not be able to install Permanent on 6.39 and 6.60, only on the 6.20 permanent Bootloader.
*Launch the CIPL_Flasher, if you’re on 6.39/6.60, if the program identifies your PSP as a TA0883v1/2 it will continue, if it’s a v3, you will simply get an error.
*If your running 6.20, launch the Permanent Boot loader, first, do a test run, press X, wait a few seconds, press X again, if your PSP returns to the main menu without any problems, re-launch the app, press X, but then O which will skip the test run.
PSP 3000

*If you’re running 6.35/6.39/6.60 the you will require to launch the Fast recovery app upon every boot, you can leave your PSP on sleep mode to have CFW when you turn it back on
If your running 6.20
*If your running 6.20, launch the Permanent Boot loader, first, do a test run, press X, wait a few seconds, press X again, if your PSP returns to the main menu without any problems, re-launch the app, press X, but then O which will skip the test run (this is the same method with an 2000)
PSP GO

*with these models, do EXACTLY the same with a 3000 model
PSP E1000

*These models’ initial firmware is 6.60 (6.50 for early releases) and you will require to launch Fast recovery upon Boot, or keep it in sleep mode, as they cannot be permanently hacked.

Hi!

Im new to this forum.
I bricked my PSP and so I thought I would try Rain'n UltraLite. As I heard it needed XP so I used VM VirtualBox as XP and it seemed to work.

I formatted the memory stick with mspformat and then used Rain's. IPL injection works and it get's done.
But when I put the memory stick in the PSP with the pandora it's still a black screen even though I got L1 pressed as I start the PSP up!

Does anyone know what could be wrong and why it's not working?

hello folks, I am about to buy a new psp as my old psp died out a month ago.and the major problem that I had faced with my psp was the battery life.It only gave me 2.5 hours of gaming and the battery would just drain out even when I am not playing very fast.I would leave it when it would be 75% then after one hour or so the batter would be at about 47-55%.

Now I am planning on buying a new psp as well as replace battery too and both I am about to do from ebay.So would you please suggest me about these things.

1.When buying a psp how can I know if it has a defect that might be somewhat like hidden when just using it for the first time?I donot really want to find further problem in the systems right after a week of using it?Please tell me the things that I should really be checking when I buy a new psp.Like probably the software or things like that.

2.And the major concern is the battery. When buying a new battery what are the things to consider?Like maybe how can I check if it is original or not?I am about to buy this battery.can you suggest me whether it is good or not?And the major problem is also about the battery dranining out even when it is not being used? How do I solve this problem? And using in medium brightness can it help the psp to last longer than usual?

PSP 6.XX PRO Online Client Installation tutorial.

First off, your PSP must be either a 2000, 3000, or a GO,it doesn’t work on 1000’s, and there’s no Wi-Fi in E1000 models.
This plugin only works on a dozen games, check the list at the bottom if you have any games from there before continuing,

1.	Install PRO-C on your PSP
2.	Download this file coresponding with your firmware:

PSP PRO-C Nightly CFW for 6.20/6.35/6.39/6.60

3.	Copy the “PROUPDATE”, and “Fast recovery” folder to /PSP/GAME
4.	Execute the file from the XMB
5.	If you have PRO-B, hold R and X to rewrite PRO-C. if your new to PRO, press X
pro start.png
6.	Press X again
pro finish.png
When you go back to your "system information", you should have something like:
result.jpg
7.	Download this file coresponding to your CFW from this site:

Coldbird ATPRO plugins 6.20/6.3x/6.60

8.	Inside will be 2 files: “kd”, and “seplugins
9.	Copy the whole “kd” folder into the root of your MS (root means “base”)
10.	In the seplugins folder, copy the files “atpro.prx”, “hotspot.txt”, and “server.txt”
11.	Open the file “hotspot.txt” and on the first line type exactly what the SSID (name) of your WiFi hotspot is, your psp must already have the hotpost saved on it. Ignore “server.txt”, this determines what server the client should connect to.
12.	If you already have some plugins in the GAME.txt file, copy the line from “GAME.txt” into your PSP’s “GAME.txt”, the “1” at the end determines whether it’s on (1) or off (0). If you have never had plugins, copy the whole “GAME.txt” into /seplugins in your folder (if you don’t have a “/seplugins” folder make one)
13.	Go back on your psp into the recovery plugins manager and make sure it look similar to what is highlited below.
recovery plugins (2).png
14.	Before you start a game, make sure your WiFi switch is enabled, as a bug, you cannont turn it on when you’re in game.
Press the “HOME” button, the menu should be different
The bottom green bar is your Battery life
The top white strip will turn blue and show strength of the WiFi when connected.
Enter the games multiplayer but choose “Ad-Hoc” mode
Expect the screen to freeze for a few seconds, sometimes the PSP may crash.
Press the “HOME” button again, you’ll see a virtual keyboard, use this to write with anyone else who is online, there is an “online count” also.
Done, Continue to use online like you would before.

Sorry i cannot provide actual pictures of gameplay, i currently dont have WiFi accessible to my PSP

I can get a PSP 3000 from a friend for pretty cheap, but the only reason I am going to buy it is so I can use it as a "Classic Emulator Console", so I need to know if I can flash/mod it so I can play homebrew.

He says it a PSP 3000 Model and its on OFW 4.21. So is it possible to install at CFW on this model?

Sorry for being so NOOBish but I am new to the PSP hacking scene lol, and I don't really want to waste the money on something that I cant hack.

All help will be appreciated :)

Hello everyone,

I have been a member on forums before so I know how annoying new people can be. So I want to let you all know, I am not asking you guys to do all this work for me without me doing any research or anything. I have read into this forum for the past week, as well as other resources across the web trying to familiarize myself with moddifying the PSP system. I have also spent a good amount of time reading "The Ultimate PSP Guide" sticky in this subsection. I am learning everything I can.
And indeed I DID read the rules. ; )
Though when I came to this subsection first, I expected it to be only guides. But was shocked to see people posting all these questions.. Being that everyone is posting questions like this, this section seemed like where I am supposed to post this thread I guess.

But anyways, I understand the concept and use behind Pandora Batteries and Magic Memory Sticks. I have learned much of the terminology associated with PSP modding. That among a few other things associated with modification.
I have experience with Modding. I have modded the original Xbox, PS2's, Jailbreaking of iPhone's / iPod's, and most recently Android Rooting and modding. I have a lot of experience with PC's and related, in general. Currently I am working in IT Support for a Midwest retail corporation in the US. Not to mention I catch on fast. So I feel this forum would be a perfect place to learn anything else I need to know.

Now as for some I don't understand or know yet: I do not know the different types of CFW. I know a few, but seeing as how I cant find any with a homepage website I dont know which are more relevent these days in the scene. Another thing I dont fully get yet is how you can Permanently mod your PSP vs Installing the CFW each time you boot up. At least thats what I am coming to understand from reading so far.

I have been worried since I have PSP-2001. Knowing that they have the multiple generations of this model, and the different motherboards.. If I end up having the unmoddable motherboard that would really kind of be lame. How convienient huh? but anyway I have been trying to use "PSPIDENT" but it keeps saying "Cant start game, data is corrupt" everytime I try to run it. Which I have now learned is because it is obviously not HomeBrew enabled. I need ChickHEN R2 to do this correct? I would gladly do as I hear it works on 5.02 which I am on right now. And if not I am sure I could just update to 5.03 to do so. But I also read somewhere that it could possibly brick my device if it is the unmoddable motherboard. Is this correct?

Anyways. I may be just heading myself in the wrong direction which is why I am posting here to get at least a little guidance on how I should go about this so I can further refine my research on relevent things that will actually be useful to my situation.

Now I noticed in this thread on the forum someone mentioned this in regards to modding a psp-2001:

Quote:

 1 update (official)
2 get 6.60 pro b9/10
3 unrar
4 move updater and recovery to psp/games folder
5 exit USB mode
6 go to games
7 pro update
8 press x
9 wait
10 press x again
10.5 auto restart
11 steps 6 to 10

Note, repeat step 11/6-10 every time you turn it on, or you'll be on ofw
Note 2 no, you wont loose your saves

And since you have a 2000, DO NOT FLASH (PEREMANT) unless your ure you have a hack able modl (motherboard)

So couldnt I just do that for now, then be able to go from there until I can figure out if I have a moddable motherboard?
If i can do that, that would seem like the best coarse of action right now.
Then from there, I could do what is needed to run PSPIDENT so I can discover my MB model, then move on my research from there. But heck, if it is unmoddable and I am still able to use the CFW but just have to reinstall each time, so be it. Thats okay with me.

Any guidance folks?
I could use some. From the constant research I feel like I am actually getting myself more lost researching into things that may not even apply to my PSP.

Thanks for your time everyone.
Have a great rest of your day.

Right, i have downloaded FIFA 13 iso and i get this error message. I have looked everywhere and all i get told is to update my software? But i can't because its a flashed psp stuck on 3.52 M33 no matter what! I have changed the configuration to ''no UMD'' and have even tried a different iso and reloaded FIFA but i keep getting the same message? I have disabled all advanced settings and enabled them but yes the same message? I've also changed the UMD mode to ''sony'' and thats the closest its come to loading but it just gave me a black screen and shut down after loading? If you have any idea please help because for some reason i have a disk with iso's on and i tried it and those iso's work fine? So maybe its just the iso's i'm downloading? please help!

Hi, while I was playing Valkyria chronicles II, I have a problem on the mission in June(doesn't really matter with the details)

THE THING IS, the game stuck on the loading screen to the get into the mission. Then I tried downloading another VC2 iso file, the result is still the same. Right now Im wondering if the problem is actually from the game or not since my psp never failed to work with other games.

Here's my psp info, since my friend mod it for me I don't know much about it except, it's homebrewed T-12 and sony psp model: 2002

P.S. Can anyone just leave a link to 'how to mod the psp self-guide' Thank you, and please help, I'm too addicted right now!
