when Firefox suddently stops (stops responding) 99.9 % of the time its a plugin failing and only one known to cause it is Flash.

here's how to recover w/o having to restart firefox

i just realised Whats causing the Plugin to Crash for Firefox But NOT Chrome.

Firefox loads the flash plugin under "plugin-container.exe" twice now i see its frozen when it's leaked into the end of Avilable Physical Ram but seem sto Never go beyond 600MB used RAM,

Firefix will Just Sit there till the plugin-container itself crashes (which i've seen as long as 10 mins.

if you want a speedy recovery, Win Key +R to bring the Run Prompt.
Type "Task Man" (if on vista/7) or taskman on XP,

look for (32bit users) "plugin-container.exe" and end the process! (right click and select End Process) for 64bit users, it'll be listed as "plugin-container.exe*32" End this EXE.. if thers more than one open.. Close em all

Reload the pages open in firefox to re-enable Flash.

The core of the plugin still functions, so all I did was update the install manifest to be accepted by all current versions of FF. Confirmed working on mine. Windows 7 FF 8, also this will work on other OS (linux, mac) too, just so long as you are using FF.
hi guy ^,^. i posted this last night in another forum site i'm in, which i found interesting for those who are planning on getting/assembling a new unit to maintain their gaming satisfaction. hope it helps yo! peace~

With the economy still struggling, personal budgeting remains vital. Even if you’re not in any financial trouble yourself (and if that’s the case, congratulations) you’re probably keeping a close eye on your bank account to reassure yourself that you’re secure should things take a turn for the worse. So if you want a new computer, particularly one for something relatively frivolous like playing games, chances are you want to make every penny count. And if you really want to restrict the number of pennies you spend, you may feel that you don’t have many choices.
Luckily, that isn’t the case. We showed last month that, with some smart shopping, it’s possible to build a functional Linux-based desktop PC for less than $200. Unfortunately, putting together a serious gaming desktop for that amount of money just isn’t going to happen. But you still don’t need to spend a mint to make it happen. If all you have is $500, you can build a desktop that will give you a good foundation for playing games now and for the next few years—and assembling it will be a snap.
We took a spin through Newegg.com to track down what we needed and had no problem coming up with a satisfying general-purpose PC with a strong gaming focus that came in just under $500. Is this system a barn burner? No—because the best gaming video cards on the market don’t start hitting until about the $200 price range, you aren’t going to be able to crank up all the detail settings and expect a DirectX 11 (DX11) game to zoom across the grand expanse of a 30-inch monitor. But you will be getting a PC that will work for more moderate 3D gaming—we mean actual first-person shooters here, not just casual titles—and, more importantly, sets you up for further upgrades down the line when you have more to spend. This computer isn’t going to be the end of your gaming aspirations, we admit, but hopefully it will prove a nice beginning. If you want something even beefier in terms of pure polygon crunching, we’ll show you another configuration that will take you there—though you’ll have to give up some other capabilities in order to make it happen.
In the coming weeks we’ll examine ways you can expand this basic configuration if you have another $250, $500, $1,000, or $1,500 to spend on building a gaming system. But even if $500 is your limit for now, we think you’ll find that isn’t too bad a place to start.

Choosing the Components
When you’re building a computer the best place to start is always by asking yourself how you plan to use it, because that will influence every other choice you make. In this case, the answer is easy: for gaming. That makes it a snap to know exactly where to begin in plotting out this system, and that’s with the video card.
Because no other component makes as significant a difference to gaming performance as this one, you want the best you can possibly afford. Because of our monetary restrictions here, however, that’s where the trouble comes in. Our standard rule of thumb is that, for most gaming PC builds, a video card should consume about one-fourth of your full budget. (And for demonstrably die-hard gaming computers, the cards can be more expensive still.) Applying that arithmetic here gives us $125, which sounds like a lot at this level.
It is, truth be told. Because a less-expensive system can’t skimp on basic components and still function, we have to eat into that money to ensure we’ll still be able to afford all the stuff we absolutely need—as well as the stuff we want. Luckily, we don’t have to chomp too much: The AMD Radeon HD 6670 offers fine performance for its price. We grabbed a version made by XFX that ran us only $83.99.
Beyond that, we looked for components that would offer us decent upgradability, and that we wouldn’t have much problem “adapting” to the later builds we were planning. Unfortunately, because $500 really isn’t that much money, we had to pick our battles carefully and not always make the truly scintillating choices we could have (or wanted to).
Two examples are the case and power supply. We selected a Cooler Master Sileo bundled with a 500-watt PSU for a total of $99.99. That’s a good deal, and there’s nothing wrong with the case—but there’s nothing exciting about it, either. It’s boxy and lacks intriguing design elements, but it has room for everything we need, which in the end is what matters most to us. When we have more money to play around with, we can reconsider it, but workable hardware has to be our first priority.
Our CPU is another example of (slight) compromise. We knew whatever we picked up was going to be from AMD—despite some major strides in its recent generation, Intel is still not at its best at the outermost end of the budget range—but we wanted the most we could get for our money. This ended up being an AMD Athlon II 640; it’s not the speediest processor on the market, but it’s still a solid quad-core chip running at 3GHz, and it comes at a tough-to-beat $99.99 price.
But if we were skimping a bit on the CPU, we were determined not to do the same on the motherboard. We wanted one that wouldn’t only provide us a ton of options with the hardware we were getting now, but that would also be good further down the line. Thanks to a $10 rebate, we picked up a Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 for only $84.99: In addition to the support we required for USB 3.0 and 6Gbps SATA III, it also has a compelling AM3+ socket and AMD 970 chipset that would guarantee we could pop a Bulldozer chip into it at some future date.
Our other purchases were pretty standard—4GB of Kingston HyperX Blu RAM ($29.99), a single 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black hard drive ($79.99), and a basic Lite-On DVD burner ($17.99)—but they were all we needed. For less than $500, we had successfully shopped for the parts necessary to build a fully functional and affordable gaming system that would meet our general needs now and grow with us into 2012 and beyond.
Components (pricing accurate as of October 5, 2011)
Total: $496.93

Alternate Configuration

Because there’s essentially an infinite number of component combinations possible, every build ultimately comes down to a question of what you value in—and are most interested doing with—your computer. We were looking for a system that balanced productivity performance, gaming capabilities, and upgradability, and made many of our decisions based on our previous experience with the brands involved. We weren’t just trying to throw together parts that might get us the fastest frame rates but would stick us with a puny or slower hard drive, a wimpier power supply, and less future proofing on the CPU side.
But we realize that some shoppers won’t mind giving up those kinds of extras if it means scraping a few extra frames out of this game or that game. For them we’re presenting this configuration, which in its processor and video card places a stronger emphasis on speed, and with a motherboard that gives you CrossFireX potential in case you ever want to add a second video card. We saw some definite benefits to this, especially on the graphics side, but decided to stick with ours because of the motherboard’s support for newer and faster data transfer technologies like USB 3.0 and SATA III, its higher memory support (32GB versus 16GB), and upgradability to AMD’s next-generation Bulldozer CPUs.
This system was what we were looking for, and what we thought would make a better platform down the line; as always, your mileage may vary. If it does, here’s a different roster for you to consider. (Note: We haven’t built or tested this configuration ourselves.) Have a different idea on how to build a gaming computer for $500 or less? Leave a comment below and let us know.
Any suggestions?

Hey guys, I have this laptop that recently had Linix Ubuntu on it. Everything worked fine, but I wanted windows. After finding my Vista install disc, I installed it without any problems. But now there is one, it doesn't recognize the on-board wireless adapter. In Ubuntu it did. Is the problem that I just need to install new drivers or something? Any useful help will be very appreciated. Thanks.

So I bought this adapter off Amazon for like $4 that lets you plug 2 PS2 controllers into your computer. It's basically a dongle. It installed fine, shows up with some programs, like Project 64 (GOLDENEYE FTW!). But it won't show up in others.

Anyone know of any good, preferably free application(s) that will let me use the controller as a keyboard/mouse?
