Hi everyone,

I've got a REALLY annoying issues.

A few month ago, I bought a PSP to someone... and once I tested it at home, I realised that this PSP was already flashed (5.00 M33-6).

At first I was kinda enthusiastic about this since the guy gave me a MS with already a game on it (Mortal Kombat unchained... if it help...) that worked perfectly fine, until I tried getting my own dumped games... which didn't worked.

Ok, I tried searching for a solution and I thought that I needed an upgrade... so here it goes... CFW upgrade didn't worked either (freezing at white PSP screen then turn off)

Trying to remain calm i tried upgrade the OFW... "error : unable to read blablabla"......... OK

A bit depressed, I tried getting original games thinking "swrew this lame flash-thing, I'll play the regular way..." except that original games didn't worked either, nor their upgrades (dissidia/parasite eve 3)

So to sum up my problem : my PSP can ONLY read PSX games (except valkyrie profile, FF8, parasite eve, persona 2 and some others that I didn't test.... FF7 works fine though...) and this crappy MK game (in cso format, if it help). No homebrew, no PSP games (in either cso or iso), no custom or official upgrade.

Since I didn't flashed this myself, I don't know what kind crap the previous owner of this PSP did.

Here's a little informations :
PSP fat 1004
Some forum said that my battery couldn't be "pandora-ed" (official psp battery 3.6V 1800 mAh)
Ms Pro duo mark 2 4Go LEXAR
CFW 5.00 M336
Got access to Recovery flash

If someone could help me please, it's been about 5 month that I'm trying to fix this and I really don't know what to do anymore :(

Replaced my old PSP 1000 housing last night as it was pretty scratched and beat up at this point, and almost seem to have it working properly, except something with the ananlog or d-pad is "pff". It only seems to effect me loading my saves in FFT: WotL, as I'll have to press X or O a lot before one will register, but ONLY when on the loading /save screen. Those buttons in game work great. When I load my save for Persona 3 the cursor immediately moves to the Upper Left of the screen. Does anyone have a clue where in my rebuild I might as borked things? Would really appreciate any help.

Hi all

This is my last ditch plea for help before this psp hits the bin :(

I had a problem out of blue with my analog stick, it appears to be stuck in in the far left/slight up position in game/browser. The stick itself feels fine to the touch. Being handy enough with a screw driver I took the PSP apart and cleaned the analog contacts, board and little gel bung with isopropyl, dried it off and reassembled. It was still doing it after. SO I ordered a replacement analog stick from eBay and patiently waited for a week... new one does the same :( Then it struck me it was quite likely something else wrong, so I assembled the PSP with no stick or gel bung at all and its STLL doing it FFS!

I then stripped the whole console down to see if there was any obvious shorts/damage and cleaned every contact while I was at it... Still no joy :(

So, any kind soul have some words of wisdom that will save my beloved 1003?

I've been having ridiculous issues with my PSP 1001 pretty much every time I try working on it.

In this instance, I heard about this [fairly] new 6.60 Pro CFW and thought I'd set it up and replace my 5.00 M33-4. Problem is, my Pandora battery doesn't seem to hold a charge. So now I can't even reset to OFW. On top of that, I tried running the unit on AC power alone, and it won't. The green LED lights up, the screen turns on, and then they both die. The regular battery works just fine, albeit runs down somewhat quickly. Since then I've been scouring the internet for possible solutions, preferably solutions that cost little to no money.

I haven't the slightest idea where to start. I don't know if the unit is just getting old, the battery (purchased from Pandorasales, not homemade) might be bad or just having a hard time charging after so long, or if this finicky USB/AC cable isn't up to the task of reviving it. The battery is about 3-4 years old, used about 10 times, hasn't been used for a few months up to a year, and has otherwise been stored in my enclosed PSP carrying case. It doesn't seem to be loose either. Also, I replaced the powerboard because of a broken switch around the same time that I got the Pandora, so it's unlikely that it's not connected properly. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions and it just needs time to rejuvenate, but the case of the PSP not running on AC power is a total mystery to me.

I can understand having to buy a new battery or replacing the charger, but I'd rather stay as far away from a shop as possible. Screw paying nearly full retail price for a diagnosis and repair just to hear "Oh, whoops, your battery was just resetting," or "your av cable wasn't giving it a sufficient charge." I want to be sure, but I have no idea. So I come to this forum, hopefully to receive some fast help. Thanks in advance, or at least for taking the time to read through this occasion of Murphy's law.

I picked up a PSP 1003 Black with 4GB Genuine Memory Stick Duo card of flea bay for £6 supposed to be non working. It came in a bit of a state, very dirty I plugged a charger in and powered on but screen flickerd. Faceplate is cracked anyhow so removed faceplate to find more dirt and debris, looks like it had stored somewhere damp, the menu bar looked to have that green kind of corrosion etc on it, also same kind of thing where the charger plugs in. It wouldnt read UMD's either so I thought well just strip it all down what have I got to loose lol. I can always keep it for spares...

So I went and bought some contact cleaner and cleaned all connections etc, used a can of compressed air around the psp to blow out all the major dust and debris, cleaned the cogs, ribon cables fit it all back together and now works perfect, now no screen flicker, UMD drive loads perfect everything responds but analog stick feels like its rubbing, I tried taking it apart and using contact cleaner inside it put it back together and still feels same?

Do sony use some kind of lubricant inside? I know Sticks are cheap but just wondered if there was anything I could try to get rid of the rubbing/scaprng feeling
