NO NO NO ! you are completely wrong mate.

You must have the game in the drive till it finish the downgrade ! Let me explain how it works.

When you copy all the files to your memorystick, you run the game after a few second you see the game is searching for a savedata to load ! but instead of loading the gamsaves it enables HEN (homebrew enabler) your screen should shows a light blue color. and reboot
when check the system software it must show 3.03HEN ! then you go to game/memorystick and run update x-y ( keep the game in the drive) after you finish the downgrade and resore default settings you will have 1.50...now you can remove the game and format your memorystick.

Hmmm....weird....all I can say is PHEW! After it rebooted it just loaded the game back up and ran it so I was playing it...went passed the save game screen and everything. I exited out and looked at my firmware and it was back at 3.03, so I did it again and removed the disk after reboot and verifying that it said it was on 3.03 hen and hell it worked...I dunno why...maybe I'm just lucky (that NEVER happens)

sometimes it won't load hen for the first time then it reboots and start the game. thats normal.

Ok, I FINALLY got my LCS copy, I verified it's the one with the 2.0 update on it. I'm now trying like crazy to enably HEN, (I used the easyinstallers to place the files on my MS for me).

Mostly, when I load gta and it gets to loading the save game, after a few seconds it goes black, power led goes out and the psp just shuts down. I've read this can happen so I try and try again.

So far I've had the light blue flash on my screen two times, then the screen got black also and the powerled stayed on.
BUT, the psp does not reset itself, the screen just stays black for a few seconds, this time with the power led on, and shuts down.

Am I missing something? For instance, do I need to let the intro of the game play out? Or quickly do a manual reset after the blue flash? Or just keep on trying 'till it succeeds?

It's the dutch (Nederlands) language setting on my psp.. Since you're surprised, I'm guessing only european psp's have this?

Just be patient friend, I actually had to try about 40 times to get it right, eventually it will work if you have all the right files in the right places. Also, don't know if it was just blind luck but for the last 2 times I tried to run HEN I switched my wifi switch to ON. Could be a factor, give it a try if you haven't already.
