Smile Please help a noob out!

Hi all!

As you can see, I am a new member in this forum. I have been looking through some threads and I am really amazed to see how well the members here help each other quickly and efficiently. I am about to purchase a PSP and I am in need for some advice.

The main reason I am purchasing a PSP is so I can mod it with custom firmware in order to play ISO games. I have heard that in order to install custom firmware, you first need to downgrade to Version 1.50. I have also heard that this 'downgrading' process has the potential to 'brick' your PSP. If I can purchase a PSP that is already version 1.50, are there any further risks involved? (This is the one Im looking at).

Anyway, let us assume that I have recieved the V1.50 PSP in brand new order and is working in stock condition. What is the next step to install custom firmware?

I understand that some of my questions may be of novice nature, but I beg you to bear with me. Once I become a fluent user of the PSP, I will help others out in this forum.

Thanks in advance!

Default Please help a noob out!

if you have 1.50: Install custom firmware. if You don't have 1.50: downgrade to 1.50 then install custom firmware (make sure your PSP is not above 3.03 official)

Thankyou for your reply.

What is the best custom firmware? Is there a risk while you install it?

Thanks again

http://www.pspmod.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17548 (help....noob..)

there is only a brick to your psp if you do something stupid during the upgrade
like try to turn your psp off and silly stuff like that.
follow the instructions and you will be fine.
