Default Anyone feeling Brave ??

Just found this and wondered if anyone has been brave enough to test it .

http://forums.qj.net/showthread.php?...ded#post176010

Its from the PSP-updates site so it comes from a fairly reputable site but still im not ready to brick my 2.0 for no reason

There is also the first playable HB game on their...its Pong and people do claim it works so I guess its a very good start.
But im still very curious on the Downgrader.

I tried and it works perfectly, well no brickage at least. It ran the game as it should. Its no less safe then running the hello world app or the star field simulator for the 2.0. It still works using only the 640k of hijacked vram and does not actually take control of the system, but congrats to all the developers spending their time and energy working on project like this. Keep the good work coming.

P.S. I have heard people say they can not exit the game by putting the system into sleep or by powering off the system, well you can just hold the power switch up for like 7-10 seconds and it'll reboot.

Err we talking about the same thing here ?
I mean this is supposedly a way to reflash the firmware down to version 1.5..that def is a possible way to brick the thing.
And what game are you talking about ?

You arent thinking of the Pong game are you ?
^^ 3 question marks in 4 lines that cant be good
Also afaik there is only 64k to play with using the buffer exploit.

I Myself wont test it until it's proven to work, several videos of decent quality, ect

only because all the code does is trick the psp to think it's 1.0 so you can initiate the 1.5 update

only thing is when a similar thing was tried on a 1.5 psp it bricked it but these are different circumstances and a whole new thing so it doesnt mean it will all I have to say is that mph doesnt even seem to trust it or I would think they would have atleast released a video or two of it being done

I completely agree shotgun, I value my PSP far too much (and dont have the ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£ÃƒÆ ’‚£ to replace it) to try untested/unproven exploits in the Hope it may work.
Call me a pussy but hell I wont even run the Hello world thing.
I know it wont brick it but still I wont risk ANYTHING untill something has been accepted to work 100%

I really do hope something gets sorted soon though, I only have Wipeout and tbh I'm not enjoying that too much, its far too stressfull a game to be relaxing

IT WORKS!! I just tested it.

2.0us ---> 1.5us

I would make sure that you have like no extra files on the mem stick except those needed, cause the app creates new files.
Also, plug in the AC adapter.

You need to set the background to the frame_buffer.png file.
Then put the rest of the files on the mem stick and go to the photo section.
Then the overflow.tif will run, and you will see some hex numbers on the side of the psp (thats what I saw, it was 3 lines of hex numbers)
After about a minute turn off the psp, and then turn it back on
The 1.50 update will launch, accept the policy, and continue. At about 99% you will get an error (Update failed, error code ffffff) - Just turn off the psp
Turn it back on, and it says system settings or whatever are corrupt, press O to reset. Press O.
After a few seconds, you will set the time, date, etc. like when u first got the psp. And it will have 1.50.
