Confusion.... US firmware on euro PSP

Hi there people. I hope someone can clear up this confusion for me.

I have a PSP with Firmware 2.69. I am looking to eventually run some emulators etc, but i appear to be stuck at the first hurdle.

After lookng through the threads, i was about to download the 2.71 official firmware, before downgrading to 1.5. I could only find the US fw. Is this compatible with my UK PSP or do i need to look for a specific fw?

Sorry if this sounds n00bish, i certainly didn't mean it to!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hello mate, you can safely use the us version for your region ! when you upgrade to 2.71 its important to know what type of motherboard you have !!
if you have a ta-082/086 you can follow my guide down on my sig.

Thanks for the help. I have checked the mobo and it doesn't have the number which denotes a TA-082. YAY i should be ok with the upgrade to 2.71. Thats one step down, many left to go....!!

Now i'm annoyed. tried to update to 2.71 and it said it was already at 2.82!! FFS, now i need to start trawling through threads again! AAAAAGGGHHH

I downgraded from 3.5 last night and I am from the UK. I used the US 1.5 update file and it was fine

I dont think It really matters considering that the PSP is region free. and now theres a downgrader for about every firmware version there is out right now.. yeehaw

i have a japanese 3.50 official firmware can i downgrade that using lumnines downgrader

Yes just set your language settings to english and make sure that you have a US or UK Lumines. Support for Japanese Lumines will come soon.

it does matter what psp youve got well i have a uk psp version 3.71 and ive got a few uk games but when i try us or jp cheats and hacks they truely dont work
