Ok so maybe this is a dumb question: but what does "direct" launching of iso/cso's mean? I thought placing them in the "ISO" folder, booting up, then selecting the title from the game menu was pretty 'direct.'

Running 3.40OE-a right now - probably going to upgrade later w/ vids or pics. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Ahh - so it *was* a dumb question - heh. Very cool - can't wait to get home so I can upgrade.

Most importantly: has anyone had any PROBLEMS or ISSUES upgrading to this new version?

i've had no problems. The only problem might be that custom themes might not be compatible with this firmware but my custom gameboot still works.

"Recent Sony official firmwares (3.30 onwards) have included checks that block upgrade from previously-downgraded PSPs with TA-082 or later motherboards. If you use this downgrader on such a PSP, you will lock yourself out of official firmware updates - although you will still be able to use new OE firmwares when they are released. We intend to release a tool to allow a return to official firmwares in the future."

By not following the instructions to the letter, yes. Things don't just randomly happen like that. Its a myth. Ensure that your battery is 75% or even full and check everything that needs checking. Dont interrupt any process. Good luck

Yes, unfortunately there is absolutely risk involved. What I can tell you is that once you've modded and upgraded - it is ultimately worth it, and you'll never want to go back. My advice is if you got it from a place like Gamestop opt for the 1yr replacement plan - even though under normal circumstances it's a ripoff.

My advice is hope for the best and expect the worst...

Default New PSP Custom Firmware v3.51 M33 !!!

Ok i'm running 3.02 OE-B

I downloaded the m33update_351.rar

unzipped it and stuck the "M33UPDATE_351" in "ms0:/PSP/GAME/"

I go out of USB mode and in the XMB i go to memory stick and see the update

I run it and it gives me this:

"The game could not be started. (80020148)

so what am i doin wrong?
