Default Help a noob!

Hi everyone,
I've spent the last 2 days poring over all of the psp hacking sites. Basically, one of the big reasons I ordered a psp was for the gps. Then I find out that it only works in Japan unless you hack it. The PSP I've ordered is a psp slim so I guess it'll be running 3.71(Of course I'll check when it comes). I've found bits and pieces of advice on the net, but I was wondering if there was any guide telling me how to go from totally stock to deniska's GPS running on the slim. I'm guessing I'll have to install the M33 3.71, but how do I do that from stock 3.71? Will the easy installer work? I would really really appreciate it if someone could tell me what to do step by step.

Thanks!
Johnny

Default Help a noob!

I know I'd have to mod the PSP. I'm asking how to do this.

If you just want a GPS unit THAN just buy a GPS!, The psp wasn't made to be a GPS unit in the first place. So don't expect much.

Your gonna have to downgrade the firmwire on the psp first of all, than upgrade it to a supported custom firmwire for the homebrew to work. Than it comes to mapping the location you want for the GPS, setup/config. It's gonna take at least a day.

So until you get the PSP we can't help you. or just do it the easy way and buy a normal GPS unit.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I bought the psp because of its versatility. Sure, it was designed to play games, but it can also do so much else. A decent size gps easily costs twice as much as the psp. If I can get gps, video, music, and gaming for 200, that sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
