You will need to downgrade to 1.50 to install 4.00 CWF too. You need the ability to run the installer, which is only possible from 1.50 or other CWF's.

Damn right the music player needs improvement! The playlist support is terrible, because it needs to be created on the computer before you transfer the songs over. Also the file format support is low, with many MP3s not even working. I wish they added OGG support too, but I guess that won't be comming.

people get to worked up on these things. you see what kind of updates we have been getting. thats going to be the same with 4.00.
but since they are changing the 1st digit, it must mean its a major update so im only expecting something like:
1seg tuner added or something stupid like that.

take it with a grain of salt because we all know its going to be a disappointing upgrade. just like all these recent ones that nobody wants to make a custom firmware for because they are pointless.

i do hope it will be good and i can be proven wrong.

and its not out in japan. and it probably wont be out before 2008.

Yes, but the recent updates have just been minor version updates. An incement in the major version always means big improvements.

I am just wondering, what was the big change from 2.xx to 3.xx firmwares? I started using PSP at the time of 3.03, so I do not know what the older versions had.

well, 2.00 featured the internet browser so that was the big feature in that
3.00 had the remote play i believe.

even the version will go to up to 1million something still it's hackable as long as DAX is there around not unless they change the mother board of psp fat, justlook for slim they change the MOBO and until now i'm still waiting for 1.5 addon.

Well, first we need Sony to release the original firmware before it can be customized by the homebrew community. So in essense, you do want the original firmware to be released.

impossible. everything thats man-made is hackable. everything has some kind of bug in it and there is NO way of patching it up except through another update.
you cant make the battery full proof with the psp flashing directly through the battery and changing the EEPROM's boot sectors which in any case, my tutorial would still work because there is no way of stopping the EEPROM from loading from the 5th pin and then im 100% sure a patch would be made.
and 100% chance of pandora's battery comming out with a V4 if that was the case.
