Default X10 home automation and PSP

I was wondering if anybody has used their PSP for home automation such as X10 or similar.
I do not own a PSP as of right now (other expenses of higher priority), but I just got a job as an Electrical Engineer so money isn't really a problem anymore. I was also wondering if I do buy a PSP right now which Firm Ware version will it most likely have? Any help without flaming me for asking such basic questions would be appreciated

I dunno what the hell X10 is or home automation but if you buy a PSP in the Value Pack it will have firmware 1.5, and include a disk with the 2.0 upgrade. Im 90% sure. That's unless the new shipments have 2.0, but i doubt it, and if they do, you can downgrade.

X10 was developed in the 70's and is used to send small amounts of data over the electrical lines in your home. Modules are available that can hook up to your computer that can control anything electrical in your house. Some interesting ideas I have found so far include using your cell phone to call and turn anything in the house on or off or using wireless controllers to turn on or off or dim all the lights etc. in your home. The possibilities are limitless and Since the patent for their equipment expired years ago the stuff is pretty cheap.

I remember reading about this a while back. If I remember correctly it was done using the psp web browser on a 2.0. It is not very common to my knowledge. If you find some more or pull up some articles on it please post back. The highest firmware on a new psp that i have ever heard reported is 2.0. So as long as you don't take it home and upgrade, or run the upgrade on the disc you are in good shape.
