Question Booting Mystery!?

I recently purchased a psp fat that had a "custom OS". Me, being the total n00b that I am figured it was using CFW. Anyway, it starts up, displays some bootlog type text, and the screen goes black (power still on). Here's a screenshot:

Upon powering on, it scrolls through the fist few lines very quickly. It stalls for just a sec or 2 when it says "is format? -- already". It displays the rest of the text quickly after that, and a few seconds later the lcd turns off. The power is still on, but I get no response by anthing I do. It also seems to take about 5-7 secs to power off when holding the power button in the "up" position

I've scoured the web and forums for any info related to this with no success.
If anybody can help me get my psp to the point where I can make it usable I'd appriciate it.

Thanks in advance - Illuminus

Hmmm, I never seen that happen before. You know what? Try looking up "KICHO & DENCHO PROGRAM" and find some info on that to figure out why is it booting up look that.

Sadly, I purchased it as is because the seller couldn't figure it out. I ordered a tool battery yesterday as nobody locally can pandora-ize one for me. I'm hoping that using that will be able to help revive this from it's nearly full funcitoning paperweight status.

Default Booting Mystery!?

I downloaded some tools that should allow me to dump the NAND and flash of this psp. I'm looing forward to getting my Mem Stick and TOOL Battery (which should work the same as a pandora's battery from what I've heard). I can't dump anything until I get the battery and Mem Stick, so we'll see.

Just to make sure, I should be able to put the psp into usb mode and run the dump applications with a pandora's battery, correct?

first, tool battery is a permenant pandora. Second, you can dump the NAND after u put in the TOOL battery when it asks you what you want to do. (have mem stick in first before you put in battery) After you dump the nand you can just take it off the memory stick.

at least IM pretty sure this is right. What r u useing to dump the NAND?

I'm still not sure what to use to dump the NAND. I've downloaded cory149's NANDtool0.3beta1, and UPMS (thanks Mechanix for letting me know this existed). I just don't know which would be more appropriate for the situation. UPMS looks like an amazing tool, and I'll be sure to use it in the future.
I'll also make sure to upload whatever I dump and pass links out to all of the forums I've posted this on.
