Should i upgrade to 2.6?

Well i have my PSP and love it. Its only 2.0 firmware which is great for me since im not into the whole homebrew scene...yet. But i was wondering if i should upgrade to the 2.6. I mean i love going online with my PSP and it bugged me when i couldnt watch videos on a web page from my PSP. i heard that 2.6 lets you do that and even download the content onto your memory stick. Do you think its worth it to upgrade?

i dont know dude.... if your not into the homebrew crap, then by all means do it, but im a newb to this crap, and this is basicly like the thread i just posted before u... the question about versions, cuase i dont know if i should upgrade to... but im going to hold out till the "supposed" release date on a flash player for psp, thats if it happens

Even with 2.6 you can not watch videos embedded in web pages. The browser on 2.0 is the same as the browser on 2.6. If you have a 2.0 and are serious about updating, I am sure some one out there that wants homebrew will trade you their 2.01+ for your 2.0 plus a bit of money I would not upgrade, I would stay at 2.0 but thats just me... you can do what you like.

The trade idea is a good one Drizzle. 2.0s are getting hard to find. As far as the web thing, that's why I've got a wireless laptop. Until sony releases a keyboard, the web is to big a pain. IMO

All new psp will be 2.01+ so the total amount of psp's in the world that can run homebrew is shrinking with every 2.0 or lower that gets updated... its really very sad. If you have a 2.0 or lower and are really going to update then please find someone that wants to keep it 2.0 or lower and trade for there 2.01+. Think about the starving children, or umm, i mean the people that want homebrew very badly but have 2.01+.... i have a couple of freinds that would gladly trade you there 2.01s and I am sure they would also throw $20 or so in the deal. You are not in Texas by any chance are you?

You can DL content to your mem stick regardless of what firmware you have(2.0,2.01,2.5,2.6)Theres an option on where you weant to save the file before you actually download it

well i have the 2.6 and man i love it i never was into the homebrew games so thats why i upgrade plus with the upgrade i can listen to wma and well i aint gunna get the location free player thing cost more than the psp so hell no and the rss is cool when you get the hang of it.

I've already upgraded to 2.6 when I got home with the PSP this x-mas. I didn't put any thought in to the whole homebrew community and in a way, I regret it because I'd get a lot more out of my PSP had I not upgraded. If I were you I'd wait and enjoy the tons of stuff available for a lower firmware PSP.

i bought my psp for x-mas and one of the first things i did was connecting to the internet and testing it with downloading the new version
