Old 3.90 M33 and odd MS problems 06-10-2008, 12:19 PM   #1 (permalink)

Default 3.90 M33 and odd MS problems

Greetings all!

I spent some time upgrading my PSP from 3.40 OE up through 3.52 M33-4 and then onto 3.90 M33. All seemed to go sweetly until I hit the 3.90 M33 upgrade.

The problem I'm seeing is that whilst I can access the MS via USB quite happily, the rest of the PSP doesn't seem to be able to! For example, putting something in PSP\GAME or PSP\GAME150 doesn't result in it showing up in the XMB. Also, reading existing saved game data or writing new saved game data (from within a UMD based game) also fails.

What's the issue, and how can I fix it?

Default 3.90 M33 and odd MS problems

I tried the MS stick that came with the PSP originally, but still had exactly the same problems. Thus, I assume it's an issue with the install of the 3.90 M33 cfw, but I have no idea I can correct this?

I've tried two different sticks so far, and get the same result when the PSP itself attempts to read/write stuff... If I put the PSP in USB mode, I can access the contents of the stick just fine, suggesting it's not the stick itself.

I put games in the ISO file not the game or game 150 file and it works fine. Games save no problem.
Cheers.

Thanks for the info on this. What's the best way to migrate my way out of this particular issue - downgrade or wait or ... ?

Is there much documentation on this particular issue? I'd like to gain a bit more of an understanding of my options, without having to throw lots of questions at people!

you could try do download custome firmware with pandoras battery and magic memory card then upgrade back to 3.90 m33-3, 3.90 m33-3 in my oppinion is the best custome firmware out at the moment so you shoulnt be getting any problems with it unless you upgraded wrongly

to use your ctf themes you must download the cxmb plugin for 390m33 (google it)

1. make a folder in your root named as seplugins
2. download the cxmb.prx plugin for 3.90m33 and copy the cxmb.prx file inside seplugins folder
3. make a text file inside the seplugins folder name VSH.txt
4. edit that text file then type ms0:/seplugins/cxmb.prx then exit and save
5. copy the CTF themes inside root:/PSP/THEMES/
6. turn on your psp while holding the R trigger to go to the recovery menu.
7. Inside your recovery menu press X on plugins then press X to enable cxmb plugin.
8. exit and change your themes from the theme settings.
