Firmware 4.00 brings Google to the XMB
Some News on upcoming 4.00 firmware Another PSP firmware update looks set to go live "soon" and, as usual, Eric Lempel has posted the details on the PlayStation.Blog. Firmware version 4.00 adds Google functionality to the XMB, meaning you don't have to deal with the web browser if you're interested in doing a bit of spontaneous web-searching. The Google function will retain a history of your last 20 searches.
4.00 also adds the ability to change the speed of video playback on your PSP, essentially adding a fast-forward function. You can also slow down your videos to watch them in slow motion, if you're that way inclined. Despite this being a X.00 update, there is no megaton announcement here. No kitten spawners or in-game ExEmBees to be found. Still, Google's pretty cool, right?

You people do realize that those articles aren't saying that the only things getting added are google search support right? The article is just telling you of some things. And I'm sure that if they were going to give some big announcement of what 4.00 has to offer it wouldn't be in a blog days maybe weeks before they even set a date to release it.
And just so you guys know, you can already fast-forward in three different speeds when watching a movie on your PSP and you can also already do slow-motion, all you do is press pause and then the right directional button. What a joke, all he's talking about is mapping features that are already there to different buttons to make it more convenient. |

They should add song lyrics to Music Visual Players
Maybe they'll follow the GEN series with CFW like in the 3.95 GEN? Or a completely new series? Either way, I wouldn't install it right away.

Lets just wait until its released. I'm sure something big is in for us.
On the contrary, look from Sony's perspective. People don't buy the games (download them instead) and then the PSP community expects Sony to keep updating the firmware, adding new features, then expecting Dark_Alex to do his thing. I'm sure Sony is fine with this.  I would love to see new features added, but I won't be all pissy if we don't get much.
