Guide to upgrade ANY psp running ANY firmware to 3.90m33

As the title says, this is for ANY psp

1. download psp grader from PSP Grader v003.2 - Lite
this is the lite version. afterward you'll have to download the 3.90 firmware from the official sony psp website

2. install the psp grader.

3. run it. connect your psp to your pc via usb and make the pandora memory stick

4. to make the pandora battery, there's 2 methods :
- soft mod. this can be done only if you already have a psp running CFW
- hard mod. you'll have to open your genuine sony battery(there's guide around for this)

alternately you can buy a DATEL battery tool or a converter form codejunkies

5. after pandorising your battery, switch off your psp. insert the pandora memory stick and then the pandora battery. choos to install 3.90m33 firmware

VOILA here you are with your CFW!

p.s : this is my first guide, so sorry for any mistakes

Nice guide. but it might be better if you add the following.

1. A guide or put a link on how to softmod/hardmod a battery.
2. A link where to download the 3.90 Eboot
3. How to use the psp grader program. (people will get confuse what is the proper IPL to choose or even how to install the program in their computer.)
4. Works in Xp or Vista?
5. Acknowledgements

FYI it is not a Pandora memory stick it is a Magic memory stick. The modified battery is called Jigkick Battery falsely known as Pandora battery and both of them (MMS and Jigkick) are called as Pandora Battery or Pandora Tool Kit.

I have seen the MMS being called a Pandora Memory stick before. But, yes, it's a good first guide, better than me, I haven't made one, maybe I should. If possible, some visuals might be nice.

Why do you need the official Sony 3.90 FW? Don't you mean you need the CFW 3.90?

in order to install ANY CFW you will need the OFW Eboot file.

One prob though.. the current version from playstation.com is 3.95, not 3.90...

There is already a guide out there that gets this done. The first thing you want to learn when making guides is not to make ones that already exist and do a good job of detailing what needs to be done.

I have yet to see a better guide for updating to custom firmware than the one in my sig down below.

thanks for your critics. its only been a month that i've been in PSP modding :-)
will try to work on your critisms for a much better guide next time.

P.S : didn't know such a guide existed. just wanted to make people know that PSP grader is easier to use to make MMS than other methods and it will definitely help newbies
