Default Recovery mode CFW settings screen?

I keep hearing about being able to do things in recovery mode but i dont know what that is. Isnt the recovery mode when you first set up your pandoras battery? And also i saw this video on youtube where this person opened up a black screen and was able to use options such as enable ISO/no UMD and then procedded onto playing ISO games when he couldnt before. And lastly someone else opened up a tiny screen in the psp home page that had some CFW options in it(forgot what they were). Can someone explain what these are and how to use them.

when doing a fresh boot up of your PSP (Cold Boot i believe is the correct term) and holding the R Trigger while doing this, it will boot up to your CFW Recovery Mode. you can adjust the CFW settings to what you desire.. do a search for it and you should find a thread explainin what each feature is.

Here you go .. Guide: Recovery Menu Explained - Singapore's Online Community

The thing you are talking about poping up in home screen is the VHS MENU ...... You can bring it up by pressing SELECT button.... It has some essential options from Recovery Menu which you can change in xmb ........ It also has a VIDEO MOUNT option which you wont get in Recovery menu,... It lets you watch UMD MOVIE iso from your memory stick
