Homebrew for 2.01 and 2.5
Does anyone elses Snes9x v0.02y32 run SO fucking slow?
I've got over 300 SNES roms and every rom I've tried so far runs practically at a crawl. It amazes me how I can run GTA in the first place so smooth, but I can't run a stupid little SNES game higher than 5fps.
Why did Fanjita make his 2.01+ loader only compatible with an emulator release that is over 5 months old anyway? |

Homebrew for 2.01 and 2.5
is n e one else having this problem
for some reason the eLoader will only load the most recent eboot installed on my psp
i had spider solitare working fine...then i installed SNES9X and that would work, but spider solitare would not
another problem im having is that after playing SNES9X once...it wont work again....dont know why....i think it might have to do with the save data because the first time i had this problem i plugged it into my ocmputer and deleted all the save data and it worked
edit: yeah i just tried it again and it deffinately has something to do with the savedata being there
any suggestions

it just doesnt make sense to me why it only works with the version that is 5 months old. And im not ungrateful, i know that this loader has been released for less than a week and many homebrews are unsupported atm, but i don't understand why he claims "snes support" when it obviously isnt supported enough to play. |

It works fine for me (some lag in games though). I have the same problem thought where it only loads the most recent hombrew that you ran. I had snes9x on there, and then I loaded another emulator. When I told it to load the other emulator, it still loaded snes9x. I had to delete snes9x off of it to even test the other homebrew.
All in all, I'm quite satisfied though. I would like an emulator that I can leave the sound on without it lagging the psp real bad though. Some games are unbearable at this point. |

at least thats what i get | thats what i do...you do have to play with the frame skipping a little depending on the game....some games i put the cpu clock at 266....it really all depends on the game
ex. Super Mario Land:
runs great:
cpu clock: 266
frame skip: 2 Doom:
too slow to play Super Mario Kart:
cpu clock: 333
frame skip: 3-4
....still barely playable
so basically depends on the stability of the game

isnt it unsafe to put the cpu clock anything higher than 222mhz? That's what I got from the readme at least. |

itll just heat up, i got it up to 35 degrees once but i think it can take to 50 (dunno ) dont worry, sony just doesnt use it (yet) for their games so that might be why they warn you but its safe to use ive played gta more than half an hour with 333 mhz and my psp is still running :P |

The psp was designed to run at 333Mhz. The reason it is set to run at 222Mhz is that Sony was unhappy with the amount of time the battery could run at 333Mhz. Sony under clocked the processor to make the battery life longer, but the system is fully capable of running at 333Mhz without causing any damage to the psp. |
