Default Flasher?

Okay, so I came up with this idea the other day, and now that I'm about to post it, I realize that alot of people must have thought of it already, and if that's the case then shouldn't there be something to show for it already? Oh well, here it is anyway.

A flash utility for those who are unfortunate enough to have version 2.6. You know, like when you go to update your CD burner or whatnot. Okay, so I'm not quite sure on how they work, but I was under the impression that a flash utility would erase the data in the flash memory and then write the updated files to it. If that's the case, then why not make one for the PSP to 'erase' the 2.6 fw and write the 1.5 files? Correct me if I'm wrong in any way.

Default Flasher?

yeah, user mode vs. kernel mode....
user doesnt let you flash,
kernel does....
2.6, with anything on that, you can only run in user mode...
so youre kinda wrong, sorry.

someone should try just getting kernel mode running. that would be a big step.

Okay, so I got bored and copied all of the BIOS files to my computer..and then I had another idea (probably only to be shot down, but oh well)..you know that Bochs shit that lets you run linux/win95 on the psp? Well, it does it through ISO, so what if you took the fw v2.6 BIOS files and make them into iso..ah shit, nevermind. I realized that you can't 'cause the way I did it was through FA++ on my 1.5, you can't do it on v2.6...damn.

EDIT: Meh. now that I think about it I don't think Bochs would have worked anyway.
