i have also found a way to get 5.02 GEN-A working with this.depending on whitch firmware you want get the appropriate patch.itll all work for dc7.enjoy | Again thanks for the replies Frost. I just updated to 5.00 M33-4 using the hotfix. Is there anything I can delete now to save space? Like the 401.PBP and the Update folder I copied in my game folder and do I need to put a 500.PBP in the root of my PSP? Also in order to use my other memory cards that aren't MMS, can I use the same program in the tutorial (Rain's Simple MMS Maker) or do I need to get the new Rain's Lite Simple MMS Maker for 5.00 M33-4 to make them MMS? It is necessary to make the other one's MMS too right, in order to use them? |

you have a corrupted flash 1 is generally what that means matrix.try going on psp to system settings and restore default settings.then try running it and see if that works.judging that you can get the pandora menu, you shouldnt have a ta-88 v3 mobo since they are unhackable and wouldnt even show the menu.
also to the guy with a psp with 4.01 firmware originally installed, your problems probably having the ta-88v3 mobo.if the psp came new with 4.01 ofw then chances are high for it to have the unhackable mobo.same goes for any psp that has higher than 4.01 when bought new

Again thanks to Frost for all the help.
So now that I have updated to 5.00 M33-4. Is there anything I can delete to save space? I still have the 401.PBP and 150.PBP files in the root of my PSP. Also can I delete the Update folder that the hotfix put in my GAME directory? And do I need a 500.PBP in my root?
Second question is since I am on 5.00 M33-4, can I still use Rain's Simple MMS Maker to convert my other memory sticks to MMS, or do I need to download the new versions of Rain's MMS Maker that support 5.00 M33-4? |

yes you can do this on more than one stick using the guide.
technically you could remove the 401.pbp but this would make it so you cant use the mms to install 4.01.if you just use the 2nd menu to go to 5.00 m33-4 though, unless you delete the update folder that was put in your games.that needs to stay there if you need to flash to 5.00 m33-4 again.have fun |

Ultimate MMS Maker Guide For Xp/Vista
I just tried this guide to get my friends PSP online cfw but it's not working for some reason.
I'm using a pandora's battery from dealextreme that I have used twice before (on my slim and his old phat) to install cfw.
I created the magic memory stick but when I put it into his PSP and insert the battery it doesn't do anything. I tried putting it in mine and inserting the battery and it just boots up normally (I have cfw 4.01m33-2). If I just put the pandora battery in with no memory stick it doesn't do anything.
His PSP is a slim with 4.01 ofw |

if it came new as 4.01,its prolly unhackable.
if the pandora isnt auto green lighing the psp though, then the batteries not made right.if the mms is not in the device nothing will work except for the battery, because the mms are the main files.reread the guide again, specially the part that says hold L on bootup and see if it does anything. |

Ultimate MMS Maker Guide For Xp/Vista
First off, I just wanted to thank you very much for taking the time to do this write up. It worked well, especially for a newb like me.
I was able to create the MMS and upload the CFW. First I uploaded the 4.* version, and then updated to 5.02. My system know indicates that it is on 5.02 GEN-A (Lite)
The emulators and video work as it should. The only problem I have is that it will not recognize ISOs. The ISO work on another PSP with an older CFW version. How can I get my PSP to read the ISOs?
Im supposed to dump the ISOs in the ISO folder right? |

While using Rain's Simple MMS Maker (Version 1.0.0.0), I continue getting the following error:
Cannot Create File "F:\401.PBP" The System Cannot Find the Specified File
The EBOOT file is on my desktop, saved into my computer. I'm using XP, not sure why I keep getting this error?
One more question, during all this process, I should use the Original Sony battery, right?, then, after the installation is when I load the Pandora?
Thanks in advance! |

Gym, did you also download the corresponding firmware?
I followed the steps on the first page of this thread, and everything went smooth. I would suggest that you start over, and just pay attention to every step of the way.
I was able to create the MMS, and upload it using a pandora battery. My problem is that I am unable to play my ISOs. I also just noticed that when I format a new card, an ISO folder is not present. Does anyone know what I need to do to be able to play my ISOs if I am running on 5.02 GEN-A (Lite)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
