holding L should load the menu if you followed right.holding r brings up the recovery unless somehow you remapped recovery to use L trigger as well.if thats the case,do the steps again but choose a different button to hold

I used your guide down to the finest detail.

Im using a PSP PHAT 1003 - 4gb Sandisk magicGate pro duo multi use card

I follow it but then i put in the battery and hold 'L' the green power light shows but i get no screen, not even the normal PSP screen.

I have done it 4 times with no success, please help

im not sure bout that one.try using a lower gig card for the initial pandora like 2 gig regular.itll still accept that card you mentioned i beleive but perhaps not for the pandora.

I tried with a 2gb sandisk magic gate multi use as well but i had no success.

I have just ordered a sony card, hoping that will work.

Evening, firstly thanks for taking the time to work on this. I'm having a little trouble and I can't seem to find a similar issue in this thread (guaranteed, i've not read the whole lot). So hopefully I'm not repeating a previously answered problem.

My rig that I'm running is operating under Windows 7 Eternity Edition. Fully up to date. I'm using the provided files and program posted in the first post. I'm also running the program as administrator.

The memory card is a Sandisk 1gb Magic Gate PRO Duo. In full working order. The PSP is an old 1003 Phat edition running on version 2.71.

Ok, so I run the program as admin and ensure that I'm loading the renamed boot file (401.PBP) and I deselect any other settings. No formatting etc, then run the program. The following appears:

Starting IPL Injection
IPL Injected
Creating Folders
Folders Created
Extracting Despertar del Cementerio v7

Which seems all normal, the PSP screen is showing a horizontal moving line which suggests that it's communicating fine with my machine. However eventually I get an error message saying:

Cannot create file "M:\401.PBP". The system cannot find the file specified.

After I close the error msg box the MMS maker then says:

Starting IPL Injection
IPL Injected
Creating Folders
Folders Created
Extracting Despertar del Cementerio v7
Finished Extraction
Reading 4.01 EBOOT
Writing 401.PBP
401.pbp Copied

I've double checked files downloaded. Not sure what's going on.

Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

Well kinda both. If you pirate an OS and have system errors and problems, it's more than likely down to the dodgy OS.

Fair call, don't have the pennies to fork out for an off the shelf win7, not touching windows vista and it's time for me to move on from windows XP. Thus I'm acquiring an untouched Windows 7 7600build OEM right now.

I am using a sony 1 gb card and a card reader, hackable psp slim (darth vader) and windows 7 beta, and when i insert the pandora and hold L i get nothing on the screen and no lights on the left flashing?

Ok, I've installed a legit copy of windows 7 and the MMS program still crashes when extracting the desperter del etc.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Are there other ways of doing this?

just FYI, when i dl'ed this [DC7 Modfix patch for 5.50 GEN-A & B UPDATE] from the first post and tried to extract it, it gave me the following error:
! modfixgen550.zip: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged

all other files from first post worked

that is a hardmod guide, it will turn your battery into a pandora permanently.

also as an alternative, you can softmod it if you have a friend with a hacked psp 1000 or a 2000 with the ta-85v1 motherboard. 5.50 gen-d2 has that option.

if either option doesnt work, then you'll have to buy one.
