Psix, PSP Shell for 1.0 and 1.5 firmwares

For those of us who happen to have 1.0 and 1.5 psp's, there is a new shell that has been released that has some really slick features such as UMD and Eboot file launching, an audio player with playlist features such as looping, repeat and shuffle, and skins. A) Yes and No, some v2.00 required games do run from psix without update, but sadly most (Including GTA) do not.

A) No, psix is just an application you can run

Q) Doesn't psix violate any GPLs, IPLs or TOUs?
A) No, psix operates without violating any rules and laws surrounding licenses and agreements.

Q) What's pro membership?
A) Pro membership gives you direct access to the latest developments in psix, and gives you direct interaction with the psix team for bug quishing, suggestions and idea, we will be working closely with the pro members to make psix the best it can possibly be.

Q) What do i get with pro membership?
A) You as a privliaged user, get access to the following :

A) We forsee given various factors such as sony's required firmware updates and general product life, between one and two years.

Q) How can i be sure some of the payment will go back to the psp community via the PDR program?
A) Honestly, you can't however i will personally ask that anyone who receives funding/resources from the PDR project, give us their username and a few words about it, so that people know if, and exactly who benefits from the program.

Q)Will the psix forum be open to the public?
A) No, the forums are for pro members only, this removes the possibility of spammers, trolls and crackers sniffing around to find someone with a copy of pro to 'leak'.

Q)Will psix lite be updated?
A) YES!, psix lite WILL be updated, however updates to psix lite will come slower than those that psix pro members have access to, the average time frame we are working with is that features from pro will slowly make it into lite after 2 or 3 months of them being in pro, so if you really do not wish to purchase pro membership, you can still enjoy the updates pro membership brings, but at a later date!

You can get the lite version for free. The pro version is $9.99. So you can get it and play around, wait to hear about what the pro version has over the lite version and upgrade later

Yea man I saw this over at pspupdates.com..and the first time I saw it I donwloaded it. The music system on it has some bugs tho. Wehn you click a song, it works but then I click on another song and it goes to some random song...so I click a different song and the same random songs plays again

I agree. Imagine this type of shell coupled with PMP (psp media player) so you could play divx and xvid formatted movies, something sony doesn't support. The music player has a playlist, something sony failed to provide us. I hope this continues to grow to the point that it can be used instead of the standard psp os. It has a lot of promise.

it's the open source market that they are fucking up on. well first games but they have a few.

but think about it. its a major corporation so thier shit will get out and the general public will buy it. but then the general public does like to make changes to shit they like. but then if people knew they could program for it and get more apps for it there would be a GIANT boom in people buying PSP's. PSP with it's shitty library of games and 'movies' they are right up there with nintendo. they are like 3/4 of nintendo's DS market i think. if they had it open where you could actually modify thier shit people would make it very very popular.
