call me some satirical newb but i've read/gotten this alot... use search function?
by changing the the load/boot splash thing, do you mean disabling the sony logo on bootup? or having a custom boot intro?
as for custom themes, be able to mess around with your flash0 cuz from what i've read, alot of people here have changed that around to reflect their work. i'd love to post some urls from pspmod but i haven't reached my 15 posts quota yet, so i guess you'd just have to search |

well, for custom themes, i would suggest not messing around at all with your flash0 files....thats how you brick your psp....i much easyier way to use custom themes is with the cxmb plugin....i have a video on how to install it, but you have to be on 4.01m33, the latest custom firmware, which i would suggest upgrading to. |

alright cool, is there any downsides to upgrading to 4.xx + firmware? no loss of function or anything? and since i've used all the older cfw i'm used to flashing my psp to customize it (and yeah i mean de-brand psp logo + boot into + boot splash for loading games so i dont have the gay white psp load screen) i just thought there was easier ways to do it with the new firmware, which im assuming cxmb is used to make it easier to install customizations? |

yea, with cxmb you can download full custom themes....thats a new boot intro, gameboot, and xmb all in one....and no, theres no downside of upgrading to 4.01m33...all you get is more compatability with more of everything....
also, if u do upgrade to 4.01m33, and u want cxmb, use the link in my sig for it.....it includes a link to get the cxmb as well as 40 different custom xmb themes |

hmm i tried your link, got the rar files and put everything on my psp but when i go to load the themes in my (now cfw 4.01mm-2) psp it acts like it is applying them and then cuts out and when it resets it is just the white sony psp icon set, i've got all the folders extracted to root, the themes folder in the PSP folder and i have activated the plugin via recovery menu, is there anythign else i need to do? |

CXMB 3.2.1 is the way to go.
If your using that, I don't know what to tell you.
