Question Nooo idea

Hey guys,
I have spent the last week trying to search this up, but havnt found exactly what i need to know to upgrade my firmware. Im scared to continue without knowing for certain the proper steps in case I brick my psp.

I have:

PSP slim v1.0
Motherboard type: Slim(o2g)
" " model: TA-085

Currently running firmware 4.01 M33-2

This psp was bought off of ebay btw.
Do I still need a pandoras battery? The person I bought it from said he never used one to upgrade to 4.01, im pretty confused. Can someone help me out??

Oh yea, btw I want to be able to run homebrew apps as well! How would I go about doing this?

You're on Custom Firmware right now. You're good to go.

If you want to update to higher firmwares, you should be able to M33 Update via network update.

Or, you can download the m33 updates, and do it that way,

As you're on 4.01M33-2, you're already homebrew enabled. Just put the apps in their own folder inside PSP/GAME/ and you're good to go.

To upgrade, use hellcat's recovery flasher to flash 5.00M33, and then use network update to update to M33-6, the latest release.
