never really ever had problems getting into the store myself and im on 5.02 gen-a still.but meh,i also dont go to the store much,and been busy with refixing my psp lately cause a lil kid got ahold of it and corrupted all my files X.x. even internal

damn frost that sucks, so it appears that PSN has issued a new check that doesn't use the version.txt, but this method still works for some games, however expect a patch from DAX sometime to fix this

This is Strange cause i used the same method and i have cfw 5.00 m33-6 and i have no problem accessing the psn store, guess i am lucky.

It may have worked before but now it does not and if you say it does...I call bullshit.

well that your opinion and i can't knock you for it i was just on there yesterday and purchased final fantasy 7 so i not know what i doing different but mine works for some reason i not know why it is but it does.

ok to further update you i also have Dark alex's Custom Firmware usbversionfake plugin installed too so maybe it working cause i have those 2 progames installed togeather that it works.

i've been trying everything for my psp to stay at 5.00 m33-6 but it's a no go for the PSN...can't get on, always says to update...i've used the following on my 5.0 m33:
version.txt (enabled 5.50, 5.51) same results, must update
i've used PSP update trick (enabled same versions) no go, need to update
side note: been battling this problem for over a week and finally gave up yesterday...seems to me that sony put up some kind of filter that doesn't care what you try to do to trick them, they're winning so far.

so now i'm running 5.50 genB, i get into PSN no problem, my only real losses are that i can't play my games that are in the 1.5 folder due to no kernel add on release for this version. plays my iso's fine. i really like to play online due to the fact that i can play with my nephew who's in Kansas and i'm here in NJ.

waiting on a patch of some sort or a 1.5 kernel for genB

5.50GEN is a buggy and unstable firmware. I'd avoid it like the plague personally.

Try it out if you have a way to recover...

if you have the ability to restore it, like a pandora or anything, just upgrade...i've been using it and had no problems except for playing 1.5 games

haven't had any bug issues like others are saying...

Sony Has Increased The Security To The PSN STORE So Now M33 UZers Can't Access. Sony Does Not Use The Version Text Anymore. Its Something In The OFW That Has In It TO ALLOw People To Go On PSn. No One KNew About This? Really Old NEWS.
