Firmware Installed: 5.00 M33-6 CFW

Default Help

I just turned on the PSP (5.00) ready to dl FF7 from PSN, now that I FINALLY I got everything together: 4 gb memory card, altered version txt, etc, and I get this message:

" A system software upgrade for the PSP is required..."

The hell? I only logged in there like a few days ago! Please tell me I don't need to upgrade my firmware, and that there's some easy way around this. I don't mean to whine, but I saw a firmware 5.03 guide, I think it was here, saying you need stuff like a pro duo memory stick adapter. I don't got shit like that! ...Save my ass, someone please??

there was a version.txt thread posted
apparently the "Altering" your version.txt doesnt work anymore

i have 5.00 m33-6 and i altered my version.txt and i cant log in
give it time somebody will come up with a temporary fix

if you dont want to wait

people on 5.50 gen A have claimed they can get on the psn
so you could change to that firmware

and if you ever decide to go back to 5.00 m33 you can use hellcat's recovery flasher to reflash the firmware

Well i have a phat psp 1001 and have 500-m33-6 on mine and i can acess the psn with no problem i think cause i used the version txt method plus i use Dark Alex's custom firmware usbversionfake plugin. it works like the version text things tricks the program that checks the psp version into thinking it is what version you set it too mine is set to 5.50 and works perfectly. i have downloaded FF7 from psn and it works with no problems.

Difference from A to B is a few bug fixes and crashes with some games/homebrew. Basically a bit more compatible with M33 shit.

Upgrading will not brick.

To upgrade to it, you first have to download and install GEN-A. Then download and install GEN-B. You cant go straight to B or else you will end up with a brick.
