Firmware Installed: 5.50 gen-D2

Default XGENV2 installer...bug found

not sure if it was caught onto, couldn't seem to find anything saying this...

i recently installed 5.50gen-b2 using xgenv2 on a friends psp phat...showing him how to change his other psp phat into custom firmware 5.50gen-B2 using his now updated #1 psp using rains mms/xgenv2.

trying to show him how to make a pandora battery with the cfw...doesn't work with vsh menu (select button) and the options to change the battery pandora-normal, aren't in the recovery menu under advanced configurations

reinstalled it using the 3 step installers with rains mms again, all good and we programmed #2 psp using his batteries/5.50gen-b2/and his own rains mms duplicated like mine in case of bricks.

edit...so bottom line, major bug in this installer pack, i'm sticking to using the 3 updates individually

I don't understand your problem? You're saying that once you updated to 5.50 GEN-B2, there was no built in option to soft mod your battery into a pandora? Why not just use PSPTool or something like that?

yeah...it shows up in the vsh menu when you press select, but it doesn't change it to a pandora when selected. it's also in the recovery menu under:
recovery>advanced

but when i installed 5.50gen-B2 with that new xgenV2 installer (it installs all 3 gen updates in 1 shot), it's not in the recovery menu at all...so i reflashed the psp with the mms and then installed genA>genB>gen-B2 updates, pandora soft mod worked when used in the vsh menu and the "make pandora", "make normal" battery options were in the recovery menu. then i went back and made him use those options to install the cfw in his other phat using the 1st psp phat that i modded for him using my pandora/mms (we used the 5.50gen's pandora soft mod capabilities to flash the 2nd phat and reverse the pandora soft mod back to normal).

edit: forgot to answer about psp tool question:
my reason why for not doing that was this cfw is supposed to be able to do that itself without those tools, so when i saw it wasn't in the recovery and unable to perform the actions using vsh, i didn't trust the full flash on the firmware from the installer pack...

so Geek, you used the xgen installer V2 and you were able to make pandora batteries using 5.50gen-b2 (via this installer??)...and the option's in the recovery menu under advanced?? check on that if you used this installer, cause it wasn't there on his when i used it (thank god i never deleted the original 3 updates for getting to 5.50gen-B2 lol)

even so, why do you need to have that? I mean to be honest with you I didn't like having the option in my VSH menu

but ultimate vsh menu on the psp's has the option too...i never use it, but for my friends case who has 2 phats, no pandora, it's useful...

but not seeing the options in the recovery and it not operating through vsh just leaves me wary on what else doesn't install properly. maybe i'm just too cautious but that showed me that it's not "technically" installing 5.50gen-b2 properly, that's how i see it anyway lol
