Congrats on your first major victory! The Yian Kut Ku is kinda like the measuring stick of your skill... once you beat that big bird biatch, get ready for everything to get harder and harder, but much more rewarding! I sooo hate fighting plesioth.... i am on the verge of HR3 (just got the Tigrex urgent) and totally love this game.

anyone got tips for fighting that desert sand swimming thing? they only give you 2 sonic bombs to get him out of the sand and then after that he just wont come out, except to do a flying tackle and nail the **** out of me, before diving right back into the sand.

Check out GameFAQs for some strategies and other good tips... personally, I don't consider this cheating, this game is very expansive in many aspects, and a little direction never hurts.

Well the long way of doing it would be to kill the velocidromes, gendrome, etc. Any of the dinosaur things with a drome at the end of it lol. It'll give you screamers which in turn you can use to make more sonic bombs. I use a longsword and bash at the fin when it comes by or a bow for long distance.. but that one in general is just annoying to fight hahaha

ya, I just finished my level 2 quests, the Congalala was the HARDEST thing EVER. I killed the YIAN KUT-KU in like... 5 minutes, I was so scared of it. but I heard the Blue one is wayyy stronger, so gotta get ready for that. and that STUPID plesioth. I tried killing him alone, with my cousin, and with EVERY weapon I have, it won't die!

Oh I forgot to mention that when it's aware of you try to get in front of it when it finally moves in your direction. If you can hit it cool, if not don't worry about (lot of field to cover )

If you're lucky, usually a bit random, the fin will disappear and he'll come up behind you and do this spit sand shot. He's still facing the same direction as before though (won't be spitting at you). You have a small window so spin around, and squeeze in a couple hits while it's spitting. Then he goes back down and his fin will pop up again. Fin will stay there for another 2 seconds or so for one more hit if you can lol. Rinse and repeat! Sonic bombs are VERY helpful haha When it finally plops up on land have at it

I've finished all the Elder quests, and in the guild I'm on the right side quests 8 star I believe. I'm working on the elder dragons and fatalis.

I played the blue yian kut ku to see and I recommend the Shark katana, or a hammer. It all depends on your style. With the shark, I don't know if youll be able to break its mane (gives you some good stuff for later). I don't remember if youll bounce off certain areas either... I stay close and attack especially when it's shootin fireballs then back up a bit watching for the tail. With a hammer aim for its head.

Whenever it's head gets low to the ground, theres a good chance it'll charge. Attack the kut ku from the side, and you should be fine. The sonic bombs in the box daze it for a few seconds so those could be helpful if need be.

Also, katana wise, look into making the iron katana, then iron grace, then iron gospel (very nice setup for the future). Gospel, if you can make it that far deals the same damage as your shark but has more sharpness which is a must. That will drastically reduce the bounce off many monsters including the kut ku.

Hammer wise, follow the weapon tree that leads to the onslaught hammer.

Talking Monster Hunter Freedom 2

lol, my first post on this site! xD And yes I know this thread is two months old... oh well...
Yian Kut-Ku is freaking hard on you first time but any weapon that allows for speed(sns or dual) or a good guard (gunlance/lance/GS) is very good. Being a gunner helps ALOT too! Only thing to worry about then is the fireballs and it's devastating charge...
Currently I'm HR4(6 star) and got the Ashen/Azure Lao Shan... sadly all my friends are HR2(4 star)... which really sucks 'cause Ashen Lao REQUIRES more than 2(could be at least 2, I'm not sure, haven't tried friends can't do it with me and I dont have Xlink kai). Got Tigrex Armour Set at level eleven, and tweaked it a bit so i got speed eater, autotracker, earplug, health +10, and demonic protection(only negative skill), and have the Devil slicer(really recomended longsword once your at 5-star Elder quests) and fire dragonsword(could get upgrade anytime, missing a few horns)

There's no option to do it.

Default Monster Hunter Freedom 2

hey guys!

i now playing to how to defeat the shao lo yeng (i forget the big dragon name). damn it was hard to finish him. i have restart so many time & changing tactics but yet none have worked. i managed to destroyed its horn though. this dragon was so enourmos so far. can someone help me & give to me some advices? thanks guys/

ohya, bdw, did someone have wallpaper of this game? hard to find tru the internet. can ur guys post it later on? thanks.

p.s: hey guys, u now the wind elder dragon? i manage to killed it 3 times already! it was so hard at first but u have to try n try.. u must read the wind coming out from its wings & mouth. u have to cut out the tail so that the wind can be slow down. dont bother to bring along all type of bombs, it useless! u cant put on the light on it coz it was so windy. u also can use the trap. when facing the elder dragon, u must think quit & shap. just watch the attack pattern. i've used devil slicer & other lighting great sword. it seem u have to challenged him 2-3 times before u finally can cut it troat. the prize is awesome! try it.
