Monster Hunter Freedom 2
In MH Freedom (one) you cannot change the hair colour or clothes unless you create a new character, they added the clothes and hair colour/design in MHF2... If you seriously do not like what you chose at first, go ahead, otherwise do not make a new char unless you seriously want to lose all your work.
Name's Lao Shan Lung, so you were pretty close. I would advise Dragon Elemented weapons. But if you do not have them get a really powerful fire one. Freedom (one) I used the Eternal Strife to kill all my Lao Shans, but since its a ruststone weapon it's harder to come by. MHF2 I kill my Lao's with the fire dragonsword, but any Dragon Elemental weapon works.
Damn, that Kushala Daora is as hard as hell on your first time. But afterwards, it's a piece of cake. I advise using the supplied poison throwing knives to poison it, then start wailing on it's head to break the horns so it loses the wind shield. After that, it's a breeze (no pun intended).
Hornet S= It's G Class, it's good. Diablos U= Wow... That is really, really good, at least by my standards... What 64 Def on 1 piece at lvl 1! Not noob... If you made it to G class, your doing really good! Hey and how did you kill the Ashen Lao Shan? You have buddies with this game or you have X-Link Kai, right? Wow, I wish I had buddies/X-Link Kai so i could get to 7 star... |

Yeah, I would happen to be asking the same question: "What is That?!" It looks dumb, happy, and smelly

Hopefully I'll get to experience this game soon once a certain battery comes via mail.
I noticed a load of mixed reviews from main game review sites. None of them beat personal judgement, eh?

MH is probably most repetitive game in the industry. The fact that it has absolutely no story line just pushes the envelope even further. Discovering new lands, ranking up, crafting new equips is nice but after a few hundred hours you start to notice everything is just repeating itself. As for GTA being repetitive, hell it is but at least it has a story line and a free roam ability to it that keeps the player interested.

Monster Hunter Freedom 2
Damn I wish I had some buddies who were HR4 so they could kill that Ashen with me... Now I'm jealous...
Monster Hunter is quite repetitive, sadly. Gladly every game they release they add more stuff, what a surprise. And, again sadly, they dont release enough. But at least in Portable/Freedom 2G (or whatever they may change it to here) is going to bring back ALL the areas they got rid of in Freedom 2, and add a new one.
As with the reviews that give it, well, a bad review, It's usually because there's "no lock-on feature." That's what makes the game hard, and of course, fun and rewarding. Well, rewarding in the non-repetitive quests . It's REALLY rewarding when your friends and you are hunting a Lao Shan, especially when your not properly equipped and have no experience killing one, and the Fortress is almost destroyed, and you FINALLY kill/repel it. Or when you killed your first Yian Garuga in Freedom and down. That thing is as strong/fast/small!?/cheap as hell! Completely worth it...
Gold Rathian, Rathian Heart, and gold Rajang... All G-Class armours, unless the Heart isn't... Grrr... Better than I can get, for now . |

Monster Hunter Freedom 2
Babble Babble Babble
To summarize MHF2 is the occasional O in the line of X which is the gaming industry. It's unique, fun, and repetitive. Stressing on the repetitive. Once you enter the world of Monster Hunter, you realize that it has been designed beautifully. The combat system is smooth and fun to play but gets repetitive over time. It's not a hard game. Most beginners just can't adjust to the fact that this is not your ordinary RPG where it takes ## hits to kill you. The monsters are huge and finally properly proportionized keeping the player in mind.
Armor does play a big part in the game. Most players only continue to play this game because they want to see how cool manly/womanly they would look in their new shiny armor. But that gets dull over time.
As for to buy this game or not? Just buy it, you won't find much better on the PSP for quite some time.

i hate those reviews which go on about "no lock-on", it would be unplayable with lock-on. USE YOUR INDEX FINGER TO CONTROL THE CAMERA YOU TARTS!
how can you be a game reviewer and not learn how to play a game, giving it 5's out of 10 and such? |
