Default Monster Hunter Freedom 2

I ordered this after reading countless reviews/user opinions.

What a gathered from the reviews, in a nutshell, was this:

The game is hard as hell.
The game will consume a lot of my time, much like an MMO.
The scope of the game is huge, and is rewarding as hell if you can get into it.

Well, I've been at it for about 5 hours now, and I have to say that I LOVE this game.

The number of weapons, armor pieces, things you can do... it's unreal.

It's not something I see myself being super hardcore at, but it's fun as hell for an hour or even two at a time, and I think it will be A LOT of fun in the office when I'm bored and want to hack some shit up really quick.

I will say one thing, the game is HARD.

Now that adjusting the camera has become second nature, it's a lot easier, but it's still an incredible challenge, which is a GOOD thing.

It's refreshing playing a challenging game, as games lately seem to be really dumbed down and easy.

I'm going to give this game an 8.5/10

Graphics - The game is stunning, especially for a hand held gaming system. The reflections, lighting, models, it's all lovely.

Sound - The music and background noises do a really good job of drawing you in, and never sound too cheesy.

Gameplay - Pure awesome. It's hard as hell, as I said, but it's THAT MUCH MORE REWARDING because of it.

Story - There isn't much of a story to speak of, but I dig that about this game - I, in a sense, get to make up my own story... I dig it a lot. It's a breath of fresh air.

All in all, BUY THIS GAME. It's more than worth it, and as I said above, it's really rewarding.

-Alex

What type of game is it? Sounds like an RPG(ew).

You should define the game before you review it...just to give noobs like me a slight understanding.

Google it, sweetheart.

It's kind of an action RPG. It's a third person game, and you run around and hack shit up.

It's a free- roamer-- think GTA, but in a hunter- age setting.
You get to hunt animals, get their meat for a meal; get herbs and stuff and combine them together to create better medicine; and the level of detail is amazing; for even the texture of the water was excellently rendered. If you ask me there wasn't much difference from MHF1, but still getting to grow stuff is amazing. Not to mention a hired cat-like cook. YUM!

I would recomend this game to any type of gamer

at the beggining of the game you can just hack stuff up but as it progresses you have to require strategy. setting traps is a large part of hunting large monsters

the thing that i like most about the game is that it does not contain that EXP,SPD atmosphere and how good you are is decided by skill and the items you obtain throughout your quests

I couldn't agree more with all of this.

The game is just FUN FUN FUN, but DAMN can it be annoying at times.

I love this game simply because when you manage to accomplish something, it's actually REALLY satisfying.

The first time I took down a Gladrome, damnit, I was proud of myself.

And when I first upgraded my dual blades...

Hard as hell, is right... I'm still having a hard time with this game, but I will persevere. The graphics are top-notch, and the depth is great. I'm still not past much, but am working on it.

I still haven't taken down a Gladrome... (Yeah, I know, I suck...)

You definitely don't suck dude... the Gladrome can be a bitch, especially when he runs into an area with like 3-4 Glaprey.

I wanted to scream a couple of times.

Thanks. Yeah, it is a bitch to kill. Hopefully, I will be able to take it down, soon.

I think I need to change from the hammers to something faster and nimbler, as the hammer I'm using (the one in the trunk, inside the house) is slow as hell, and not very accurate. (ie: takes me awhile to turn around when the monster has gotten behind me, and the hammer is still "smacking" the ground...)

I'm still trying to figure out the combat system.

(Now, if I could just blowup those 3 vans in Vice City, before the Cholos get me, I'd be a happy camper... )

Remember, when the hammer hits the ground, you can almost immediately roll out of the way.
