1 - Tales of the world R.M review by T.B.O.G
well we understand that tales of the worlds newest release for psp isnt all that new anymore and we bet u are wondering why now do we make a review about it, well the answer is because we had a fan request a review and we dnt dissapoint our fans, so here we go, luckily we have bought this UMD the day it was released and have mastered it, thank me and Eugene for that,
Graphics 8 of 10
Music 10 of 10
story 7 of 10
Gameplay 9 of 10
-Graphics-
well for the psp we could assume this is as good as its gonna get for Tales games considering that fact that there isnt a tales game that isnt anime looking so dont expect the graphics of the next game to combat that of metal gear solid, these graphics are awesome, they work, no glitches, and no slow actions if things get crazy. its alos really amazing to see our old Tales friends in new graphics of today such as Reid and Stahn, etc. this works well, when it comes down to it. nobody can ever tell when graphics have reached there peak so this is how it is, in short, Theyre great.
-Music-
th original composer of the tales series has done it again, not only has he added new music to the saga but he brought back music that millions loved listening to going through other tales games such as "TAKE UP THE CROSS" from SNES (Tales of Phantasia) and "Inferia Battle" from (Tales of Destiny II/Eternia) so much music, if not playing the game you will be found in the sound test option with the head phones blasting, we assure you.
-Story-
dont get us wrong, we love the story, you start out as...whoever you named your character being born from the great mana tree and come to meet your little flying cat friend mormo, ok so thats where it ebgins, now exploring towns you will interact with famous tales characters from their respective games, which is a real treat, then you will come to find out that there is a destruction going on which causes death of planets and the life being sucked from their life trees, this destruction is called Gilgulum, which you find out is controlled by an evil master and defender of a world, his name is Lord Widdershin, your story basicallly consists of you just going in different areas and preventing Gilgulum from absorbing your planets life, in the end it all comes down to you fighting Lord widdershin to the death, of coarse you are victorius, and also in the end, your character ceas's to exist and goes back living as a tree of the planet...some ending
-Gameplay-
this gameplay is awesome but not perfect, the gameplay is very similar to tales of the abyss for ps2, one dissapointment we have is that activating your skills is a hastle to do beause your D-pad is what allows that and your D-pad is also a way to move your character which is a reference to tales of symphonia for gamecube and ps2. one other thing that makes this game worth while is the fact that all the characters we remembered and loved have now become playable on a next gen handheld looking better then ever, a huge complaint we have is the fact that Namco had to weaken Reid Hershel for this game, "Tales of Eternia" if u have played his game, u will notice that in tales of the world, they took away his speed, they made his moves weaker, they changed his combos, and they took out his 2 best aurora moves. \(>.<)/ aww well, this just goes to show that he was to powerfl for this game and needed to be tampered with.
overall this game deserves an 8 out of 10
