Crisis Core FF7 english T.B.O.G review

wow, its been a while since we made a review on pspmod. well here is one to remember. well we were able to get our hands on Crisis Core back on september 16 and beat it shortly after, over and over again. then a while back we were able to manage to get the english version before its release date. so, this review may be long. but its worth a read. that is ofcoarse u have nothing better to do.

-graphics-
well well well, its not at all often you get really good FMV sequences from advent children in games for psp. let alone really good scenes at all. but this game actually taps the power of what the PSP can really do. the fmv's are beautyfull, like advent children. but thats not the whole game. it will cut off and switch to graphics that u would see in Kingdom Hearts, which is really good cuz everyone loves kingdom hearts. the movements of the characters are realy good and not laggey, there are very few blockly edges which are annoying to those who really cared enough to see them destroyed.other them blocky edges, there isnt much at all to complain about the graphics, especially graphics that make a psp look like a ps2.

-Sound and Music-
the sound effects are what you would hear in your average final fantasy game. the slashing effects, the beeping sounds of the cursor, the tracks for the game are really awesome. but it is unfortunate but not every track is great and memorable. not really worth complaining about since the track will often fit the mood of the game, but u wouldnt put the track in your i-pod. the remixes of the old tracks of ff7 are a real nice touch such as Aerith's theme now being in guitar form, etc. and many new ones. its really upsetting that this game didnt have a sound test, but then again. no final fantasy game does.

-gameplay-
wow, for a final fantasy game. i think this may be the one square actually got right. dont get me wrong the turn based thign was good for a while but its remotly annoying atimes when u see something coming at you, and u just have to sit their like a %#@* and take it. but now, the gameplay is still random battle pop ups, but thats cool, cuz everyone has to love some sort of game like this, weather it be in the Tales Series or the FF series. take your pic. however i figured this game was more like a Tales game, its gameplay is quite similar. you are no longer sitting there waiting to get pounded. now u can actually do something about it. its solid gameplay where u can use your L and R buttons to toggle between differnt attacks that Zack has equpped, different materia as we all know gives you different moves. its he same strategy here, just now more agile. you also have manueveres like using your square button for a dodge roll, and triangle to block or dash. depending on what materia u had set on it. the gameplay is fun but limited. there is no jump button but there is a materia that enables u to do a jump attack. so, consider the game play a lazy Kingdom Hearts style. which isnt at all bad. especially since its based off an ff game that was turn based from the beggining so to see something new like this, weather it be greatly exxagerated or not is still something worth viewing and playing to see which you would prefer if they were to re-make the original.

-replay value-
after you beat the game. you are rewarded with a newgame+, there is nothing really major about it. but the main enjoyable thing is that when u start it, you are able to keep all of your status and items from your last playthrough. this is actually a good thing since some fo your sidequest missions can be such a pain. also having rumbles with secret bosse's is a good reason to go through again.

-story-
well we could spoil the story for you. some of you which already know it. but we will jst tell you. its a solid story. the only thing majorley worth complaining about is Genesis. whom quote's LOVELESS way to much...but we wont spoil anymore. good luck

nice review... i just barely got the game today and i have to agree, the battle system is awesome. I REALLY love the rock music during the fights, i hope they keep it throughout the game

well, we do only the best we can to review it, and thats why we have like a lot of requests for reviews cuz we arent paid to say its good or hat it does this. we are the ultimate in honesty. like when all the reviewes at sites claimed NiHTS journey of Dreams was a horrible game. they were so wrong. one of th ebest video games we have ever seen

does anyone know what it means when it says "heightend emotions affected the DMW" or something like that or when it goes into modulating phase, it sometimes shows little clips from past game play

yes, when th emodulating phaze appears and it playes a scene, its nothing more then a moment with a friend because u see.

the Modulating phase IS ZACK's BRAIN. and what he is currently focusing on.

and when hightened emotions appear, that means the effect of the modulating phase is increased.

Yeah and an easier way to lvl is when Highented emotions affected the DMV do side missions before continuing. I gained like 5 lvls doing 2 missions in under 10 mins.

levng up is almost very odd in the game as u never know when it will happen. i lvld up 3 times in a row which was really cool

well main thing i like about this game is that when you (SPOILER DONT READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVENT PLAYED THE GAME ARE GONNA PLAY IT, READ AT YOUR OWN CHOICE,UHHHHH VIWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED)--- kill angeal and he gives you his sword that really made me think was the ending cuz it was all emotional and stuff BUT NOOO LOL ZACK BECOMES BIGGER AND GETS A SIX PACK!!! i thought that was just the ending scene but nooo i figured out you get to play as him with the buster sword!!! and that there was still 50% of the game left =D lol

hello can some one tell me how to summon ifrit and the other ones because i am about lev 19 and have had ifrit for ages but i have not sommoned him once and i find the dmvquite confusing i mean can u effect the result of the dmv or is it totally random and to summon is it the same cause if i remember right in the old game u could summon ifrit and the other as an option durin a fight scene
