...I'd rather settle for a BurnOut with infrastructure than GT4P. Besides, even if GT4P is real it's probably not going to have infrastructure which is gonna be boring as hell for me.

What? BurnOut Legends had infrastructure? I only saw game sharing and Ad hoc.

the blue-ray umd is 50 gb when sony flashs the ps3 with there next firmware update they will beable to read 150 gb blue-ray disk (why blue-ray beat out hddvd). I have seen some specs i think it will be 2 years before it is out. Cost should be around 230 - 300 games starting at 40 -60 bucks. and buy then you will be able to get flash drives as memory i am sure for your psp

There are actual 200 GB super BluRay discs well on the way. TDK announced theirs, actually, back in '06: TDK: Ok, we're done with the 200GB recordable Blu-Ray - Engadget

And Sony announced development on an eight-layer BluRay themselves, which is also 200 GB capacity, back in 2004.

Thing is, though, I have to question whether or not the PS3 will fully support this extension on the BluRay format. There's been quite a few votes in the 'yes' department, but I guess we are really going to have to wait and see. The price per disc originally is going to be so excessive that I can't imagine developers using it as a practical means of game distribution, at least not for quite some time.

200 GB Blue ray discs? I see no reason for this right now. May be few years (2-3)later.

I think the immediate applications would be to avoid multi-disk games. We'll see them before you know it. Happens all the time. PC games are spanning multiple DVS now. Remember when games on CD came out? Then all of a sudden you had to buy a game that spanned 2-3-4-Plus CDs. I think the expandable format of bluray is going to help fend off that need for a long time to come.

The first things I think we'll see in higher capacity BluRay would be games bundles, games packed with expansion packs and possibly bluray movies with the matching video game on disk too. I dunno, the possiblities are endless.

The intended initial application of the technology is large scale data backup, which I think will probably be it's primary use until production costs drop. Considering the cost of a BD-R at it's normal capacity, it wouldn't shock me if the cost of the 200 GB was initially the same as a hard drive with the same capacity, the benefit being data being laid down to optical media instead of magnetic. Eventually, though, as the cost drops I can quite easily see it being used for HD releases of a TV show's entire season on one disc.

I agree - I gues I was stuck in gaming mode and thinking about it primarily as a PS3 application. How "Not the Big Picture" of me.

Makes total sense.
