Game Description : Everyones beloved Anime in the 90's that took America by storm and created a class system for kids in elementary school. The poor kids got the fake cards from the flea market and the rich kids who jeered and laughed in till there rare cards went missing. This time around Konami brings us the second installment of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force, which is a new series in Yu-Gi-Oh!. Of course I did not enjoy this series like I did the first one because why is it still named Yu-Gi-Oh! if Yugi Isnt there? Pretty much what you do in this game is constantly battle, which battles can take from 5mins to about a little over an Hour, Seriously. There are cards on the ground that you can pick up which seriously asks the questions, why the hell are there so many cards scattered everywhere. You also get to discover ruins which you collect treasure chests, which contains cards. You also battle people which makes you wonder why are these weird looking dudes doing in a cave/ruin under the school.
Storyline: The storyline isn't really worth to speak of seeing as how in the beginning of the game, you pick a partner and you and your partner try to become the best. You battle characters in the game and depending on the characters you picked, there story influences you.
Number Of Players :2
Genre : Card Battle
Retail Price : $19.99 USD
Graphics out of 10 : 8/10
- The graphics are cool but the characters during battle lack detail. They look smooth and there are barely any black lines. That makes them look kind of pale and smooth.
Sound out of 10 : 7/10
- The great part is when the BGM switches at the right time. But sometimes the music is to happy and up-beat which gets annoying. Another thing is that the characters when battling don't have voices. All you get are subtitles which is pretty sad because there mouths move and you can try to attempt to follow the movements of their mouths why your saying it. But that makes you kinda crazy and psycho if your doing that in public.
Controls out of 10 : 8/10
- The controls can sometimes be confusing. Seeing as how X isnt to talk but it pulls down a action menu which lets you to either battle, talk, or some other things. But theres already a button to talk so why would you have both. Its confusing.
Gameplay out of 10 : 6/10
- The problem doesn't lie in the mode but the AI. Your Team Mate sucks and lacks common sense and your opponent is an asshole. The computer AI can get extremely hard and can be extremely sympathetic. If your losing, the AI sometimes act incredibly stupid and let you win. But out of nowhere the AI can turn around, Smack you and destroy your hopes after the computer builds it up. Man the AI is cruel. But of course in a Card Game there are Wireless Capabilities and in this 2nd installment there are 5 new mini games.
Overall out of 10 : 7/10
C
- If your a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh and still collect cards, you might still like this game. But Some others would hate it, detest it, or even try to attempt to destroy every single copy of this game.
