Game Title : Yggdra Union
Firmware Required : CFW/OFW
Release Date: 09/16/08 US
Developer: Atlus Co.
Game Description : Yggdra Union was originally released for the Game Boy Advanced and is now ported over to the PSP. A mix of turn based RPG and Strategy the game revolves around the use of cards. These Cards have certain skills that you can use when you progress further into the game. Banish is one of the first cards you obtain and allows your character to use Holy Strike. When defeating an enemy your goal is to diminish their morale until it reaches zero, which is determined by the power of your card. So not only does your card allows you to use skills it also is the main factor of morale damage needed to strike down your foes. Of course not all characters can use the same card, some cards requires a character who uses a sword or an axe to use. That person is the Ace or leader of the union when starting an attack. The person who is carrying out the attack is the Ace. The game can be quite complex but after a while it will become easier, that is why within story mode their are Tutorials. The goals within a mission usually consist of moving to an objective point, saving someone who is surrounded by troops by clearing the ones around them and moving your characters next to them, killing a certain opponent and etc. You can equip your characters with weapons or items which raises your characters luck, attack, defense and etc. Their are so many aspects of gameplay to consider but regardless the game is quite straightforward. Even though the game may not have FMV scenes and mainly consists of Pictures, Dialogue and Animated Chibi's it still delivers the story quite well.
Storyline: The protagonists are Yggdra and Milanor. Yggdra is the Princess of Fantasinia but her kingdom has been taken over by the Empire. She bumps into Milanor who is a Thief who helps her out due to Yggdra's promise of her castle. Throughout the story they rescue the remaining factor of Yggdra's, Unfoil the Empires Plan and Try to reclaim the capital.
Number Of Players : 1
Genre : RPG Strategy
Retail Price : $36.99 USD
Graphics out of 10 : 8/10
- The style of graphics reminded me of Dj Portable Max 2 but seeing as how the game mainly revolves around 2d Graphics with 3d Effects it blended quite nicely.
Sound out of 10 : 8/10
- The music is quite nice and the Voice Acting is pretty good. The voice acting can be quite iffy due to the corny dialog.
Controls out of 10 : 9/10
- Controls are quite easy and the Right trigger lets you speed up the action within the game so everthing goes by quite fast.
Gameplay out of 10 : 9/10
- There are some aspects that could have been added to the gameplay such as a store and money. Seeing as how it is hard to come by medallions and a store could have helped. You must explore the map to come by hidden items. The Towns and houses on the maps consist of villagers which whenever you land on puts you into a conversation with the villagers. The villagers can give you items or depending on if you have a certain item they can make something for you.
Overall out of 10 : 8.5/10 B+

Ok, maybe I should say this:
You judge ALL games way too easily.
Lol okay, what do you want me to do about it. I can't give a game a 0 because then it wouldnt be a game. The only game i would consider under a 3 would be Matt Hoffmans BMX. Plus, so far i've only reviewed the games that i've liked. So of course all my reviews are good reviews. I agree with you also, I do judge them to easily. If you don't like it, then read hercules reviews or Tigas.
Thanks for the review, I was thinking about getting it and now I may. Also like Lost Cauze has already said, a review is just an opinion, if you didn't like it right your own review and complain.
