Default Metal gear ac!d

this was a review done for gmr-source.com...so don't feel too flattered that i wrote all this

enjoy

A new game in the Metal Gear world has been put on game store shelves near you, Metal Gear Ac!d. Even better though, its for the Sony PSP handheld. Finally you can play as snake on the go, but before you leap for joy and put on your stealth suits you must be warned, this is not a run-of-the-mill Metal Gear; Metal Gear Ac!d (MGA) is a strategic card game. Instead of you freely controlling Snake, you use cards to move and/or battle.
When you first load up the game a little scene of someone using cards to battle it out, this is the first sign that the game is going to be hard to master. Snake has a †œdeckâà ƒÆ’¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚? of available cards to use, which you can change in the †œdeck editorââ‚Ã⠀šÃ‚¬Ãƒâ€š? section. There are many different cards used, action, support, and movement to put it in laymanââ‚Ã⠀šÃ‚¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢s terms. Konami did a great job designing the cards, giving a plethora of different options of cards to use during gameplay. For example, there are two guards in front of me, and they see me. I donââ‚Âà ‚¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢t want them to †œcall for helpââ‚ ¬Ã‚? so I must kill them; I have two cards I can use per turn so I pull out my grenade card and throw it at the feet of a guard, since the grenade doesnââ‚ƚ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢t explode right away I pull out my famas card and shoot the grenade making it explode killing the guards and avoiding the alert. That is only one way I could have handled the situation, and there are many many more. The use of the cards is may confusing at first, but the tutorials do a great job of teaching you the basics, and you figure out things after you realize how to use each card.
The story in MGA is much like previous MGS on the PS(2) has major plot changes, some you will like and some you wont. The story makes up of a clown, some puppets, and airplane, a secret base, psychics, and of course Snake. The story is told incredibly well through the †œcut-scenesââ‚Ã⠀šÃ‚¬Ãƒâ€š? after and before each mission.

The graphics on the MGA donââ‚Âà ‚¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢t disappoint, the still shots on the cut-scenes look Fantastic. A con though is that the graphics on the special cards (you will know when you see them) do not look precise at all, they look very un-professional.

The ambiance of Metal gear ac!d is great, although Snake (or anyone else for that matter) does not have a voice in this game. The dialog is all in words, but it doesnââ‚ƚ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢t matter much when you see how they presented the dialog; with a picture of the character speaking and highly detailed and incredible on the PSP screen.

MGAââ‚Âà ‚¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢s card system works very well, although it would have been nice to have an action MG on the PSP. The story works hand in hand with the graphics and missions leaving you to have a fun and exciting experience on the PSP. The card play get you sucked into Metal Gear Ac!d till you finish.

Pros
+ Incredible card gameplay after you get the hang of it
+ Great way to tell the story through cut-scenes
+ Incredibly bizarre storyline which MG fans have come to love

Cons
-Hard to get into the game at first
-No voice for snake
-Why is Alice holding a bear?

Gameplay 9.3/10
Graphics 8.5/10
Sound 8.2/10
Presentation 9.6/10

Overall 9.5/10

hope you liked, give me any corrections or tips...if you like

he he he, someone at gmr just asked me what was up with that name (considering the matrix rocks )

Sucks was my first name (in counter-strike)

well actually it was "I bet I suck more than you" but that was too long with a clan tag

so then after a year...i chaged it to matr!x. .....thus....i added 1 and 1 and it equals matrixsucks!

soo, that reveals the mystery of my name coming to be!

i always loved history
