    Game Title: Dissidia: Final Fantasy

Firmware Used: 6.20 TN-D (Majority CFW)
    Release Date: Aug 25, 2009
    Developer: Square Enix

Game Synopsis: Final Fantasy fans unite! Square Enix has not only created a game that has great marketing potential but it also is a great reply to fans all around the world. The release of this game caused many fans to throw down a handful cash for not only a copy of the game but for a new change of underpants. Many years we have waited for a Final Fantasy Fighting game, and here it is. Final Fantasy Dissidia.... unfortunately isn't as great as it is made out to be. With a great opening and lack luster plot, incredibly bad voice overs, unpolished controls there is still a plus side to the game. Sure its a disappointment, but like everyones red headed step child disappointments come with achievements. Great graphics, re playability for those without ADD, great cast of characters, plenty to unlock and each character has a play style.

Storyline: Cosmos the goddess of harmony [not to be confused with the the king of Cosmos, which would be pretty cool...but i digress] and Chaos the god of destruction wage war against one another. Each deity has chosen 10 warriors from 10 other worlds to fight for harmony or destruction. The warriors continually fight but alas the heroes fall....

Number of Players: 2 (Infrastructure Support)
    Genre: Action 3D Fighting
    Retail Price: $20.00 (Gamestop Pre-Owned)

    Graphics: 8/10
-Sure, I've been gone from the PSP scene for a good minute but I know good graphics when I see it. Its visually aspiring, square enix has always been good with graphics and CG scenes. Of course some of the scenes didn't look quite as brushed up as it could.

    Sound: 7/10
-Music was great of course I kinda wished there was some techno, house or electronica. The battle music was okay and the Final Fantasy victory music gets really annoying which makes me subconcious spam the shit out of X.

    Controls: 6/10
-Honestly I really did not like the controls. They were okay, everything was playable but sometimes its really annoying. The whole battle system felt really cluttered sometimes. I'm sure the next installment will be a lot cleaner but this game is no excuse. Sometimes ill lag in the air after breaking their shield and go in for some damage. The circle attacks won't link to the Square attacks sometimes and there are times the controls lag. I mean the controls aren't horrendous, it just needs polishing.

    Gameplay: 6/10
-There are 3 playable modes. Story Mode which walks through each character through a strategy turn based RPG fighting scenario. You gain equips, abilities, achievements and summons. The ability mechanics is like that of Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy combined. You gain certain attacks, basic abilities and you even gain masteries through them with AP. Each character has about 4 maps which you navigate like tactics while your move points are called Destiny Points. The more Destiny Points you have after completing a map, the better items or money you get. You gain DP by engaging the enemy and completing a certain goal such as "Kill enemy in 10 seconds". Arcade you plainly fight through 5 characters while quick fight you only fight 1. There is a museum mode and a shop where you can unlock costumes, characters, exp buffs and etc.

    Overall: 7/10
    - Sure its a fun game, I can play it for a very long time and has good replay value but it gets incredibly tedious after awhile. Like erectile dysfunction, its disappointing and can only keep you up for so long. 012 Dissidia will be a different story ;D

this is a grand example of how a review should be made, albeit it's very very very late. I'm not gonna troll it because of the effort put into it. I do have to disagree about the game being fun though, and those cutscenes....ugh. You'd really have to be a fan of many of the games to enjoy this

Yea honestly I was gonna give it a six but I do believe that it is fun. Nostalgia at its best I am a Final Fantasy fan. The cutscenes help make the game really boring and tedious but the action itself is fun. Of course repeating the same bull shit over and over is quite stupid but there are many things to unlock in the game.

I've done a lot of game reviews around 2008 on this site using the same format so I hope you enjoy them. Of course a lot of the reviews are old but my next one is going to be on a recent game. I'm currently working on a Marvel vs Capcom 3 review for the Xbox360 and Lords of Arcana on the PSP. Thanks for the comment.
