Im still very much against letting new people just sign up to win. How can we know for sure that people are creating multiple accounts just to bring up their odds? We are going to have 9769851325 new members that will spam the boards like crazed monkeys then have them all abandon us after the winner is announced.
I like the idea of the contest, but theres lke 20 people that signed up today just to post "yes, i agree" in here and god knows how many other threads. Im not saying this to raise my chances of winning, if people think that the admin can ban me from the competition right away, i really dont care, but i think it would be fair for the site to give back to the people who help out, not all the leeches that just showed up today.

I agree, but it clearly states "No spamming." They know they're not going to win if the do so, so if we do get 100 new members each day, they'll be helping, and not spamming. I think that's the main idea of the competition.

Yes, but alot of people will sign up and spam anyway thinking they can get away with it which will only succeed in pissing off the people who actually help out around here. Just look at this thread. Theres already 50 posts that say "Im in" or some stupid shit like that. And like the guy above me ^^ asking when its over. The Admin said it was december's competition, so reason would suggest that it will be over at the end of december. Not only that, but he specifically said it will go to december 31. This is the worst contest so far imo, but ironically it has the best prize.

The idea of the contest is to get more people to sign up, and to get the PSPMod name out to others.
And, if getting people to sign up is what it takes to get people to sign up... then by all means...
Plus mods will be watching for spam, and for multiple accounts, so it's not a big deal for me to do my job here.

Plus, admin will look to make sure that whoever wins, didn't post random ass spam. So whoever does spam will not only get the spam deleted, and possibly more..., but will also be ineligible to win.

So, it's not a big deal at all...

I realize that you and the rest of the mods will be watching, but there will still be shitloads of spam. On another forum i frequent there was a contest like this where the admin was getting rid of the extra shirts he had and there was spam everywhere. Like 50 people got suspended in a week for spamming but there were 50 more the next week clogging up the threads. That forum has a lot more mods than this one too, mind you. Im just concerned that the general quality of posts is going to go downhill fast.

The moderators were doing their jobs, and I don't see why it really affects you so much, there are going to be plenty of people watching for this.

It affects me so much because i come here to help people and to get help myself. Now for the rest of december its going to be a bitch fight between mods and spammers which isnt going to help anyone solve their problems.

I haven't noticed anything wrong yet....

And the moderators aren't going to go around spamming with the newcomers. They'll simply delete the post or thread, or leave a warning and/or infract. It's taken care of. The Admin's smarter than to let 6,000 new members waddle in without enough moderators.
