So much drama... this is retardation in it's purest form. The existing site staff should choose the new moderators and thats it. If we get someone who turns out to be a complete idiot or some power hungry freak then I'm done here.

I agree. You can't just get members to choose moderators, because they're just choosing people they like, friends etc, rather than people that could do a good job.

I don't mean this an offensive way, but some of the people suggested, whilst they may post help for people and whatever, i don't think they would be a good moderator at all. Moderators have to be impartial, mature, level headed and helpful. Close threads, merge threads, edit posts in a professional way, not like some people have in the past with childish humour.

The only way to choose moderators is for the admin to be active on the site over a long period to see what people are doing, how they are behaving. You can't just get members to vote, which is wide open to rigging, and then electing them on their say so, when you don't know a lot about them yourself.

Also as simple as it sounds, people who can write in proper English helps. It doesn't look very good when threads are closed with "stupid thread locking this u should know better" which i've seen a lot.
