And he married his cousin...and his mom and sister both died of, erm, Turberculosus? I think that's it and then so did his wife. The more tradgedy in your life the better your writing I suppose lol
Edit: *sigh* okay I know I'm gonna get flamed for this but what the hell is an ebook...normally I would google or wiki it but I'm too lazy and my computer is running too slow right now.

No, not necessarily.
And, especially not in the case of Poe. The copyright is expired, so it can legally be distributed around for free, on places like Project Gutenburg.
Edit: CSO's and ISO's aren't illegal either. The ISO is just a CD-Image. It can contain anything you want. Linux, for example, is distributed in the form of an ISO. Perfectly legal...

i never really got poe's way. Maybe it was his life that made his stories so unique. |

Or his imagination and skill.
But, yeah, authors use personal experience to write. They use that as a lens in which to see the world.
Not always is it their own personal lens, but often times, it is. |

lol I dont care if its illegal or not...most of my music collection is illegal.
@phantom: Yeah his life definatly influenced his stories. There is no way that all of that darkness came from just how he was born.

The Tell-Tale Heart is when the main character kills an old man because he doesnt like the way his eyes watch him. Then buries him under the floor boards, then he is driven to madness because he thinks that he can hear the old man's heart beating beneath the floor boards. What isnt to understand? I never read about the cat though.

First off the man was blind in his one eye, the only eye that bothered the character. Now he killed him simply because he didnt like the eye. But I have read this over and thought about it and I believe that this eye stares into the character's soul and since it never blinks the character interprets this as judgement. This is, however, all I have come up with so far. There are many possiblilities but the main reason that he kills the old man is because he doesnt like his one blind eye constantly staring at him.
