What is it?
A cellphone or something?
Edit: I guess it is a cellphone. I can't keep up with those so I don't bother. So many phones come out all of the time that I can't stop to care about one of them.
What's the draw/what new things does it bring to the table?

Looks nice, but i'd still rather an iPhone 3GS, despite it being called the "iPhone Killer". |

I hate AT&T, so Iphone is out of the question for me. The driod has Google voice search, a qwert keyboard (incase you don't want to use the screen) it carn run multiple apps, high speed browsing, 5mp camera with DVD quality video recording, 3.7 high rez touch screen. Pretty much an iphone, but not from AT&T.
I have verizon already, and from what I've heard from AT&T users, their coverage sux. I've never lost reception on my Voyager except in the mountains, but even then I'll get a bar here and there.

Feature wise it is better. However how are these features implemented? UI accounts for alot of the iPhone success, in the carefully controlled environment that Apple decides that is good for the users.

It's great and all but CDMA sucks major dick. You can't use SIM cards unless it's a "World Edition" phone, and even then theyre locked to specific carriers. Also a big limitation with CDMA, aside from the fact that 98% of the world runs on GSM, is that you can't browse the web and talk at the same time (hence the "connecting" screen you guys get). You also need to call in to switch phones by ESN number, which is retarded when SIM cards allow you to both keep your contacts and switch phones. I love Android, and it's not the phone, cause I love it, it's just...Verizon. They're only good for signal. Other than that, they're so expensive and you can't take your beloved phone to any other carriers. Oh and my friend won a Droid a few days ago.
Posted from my unlocked Jailbroken iPhone. Don't complain about AT&T. Address the phone itself because as long as you can unlock it, that argument's out of the picture.

But you can do just about everything it does and more on a jailbroken iPhone. I'm on one as a matter of fact. I have backgrounding of apps, emulators, 3D games, etc. And this is on a 2G from 2007. It is not an iPhone killer. It is an iPhone alternative and people just brand it as the phone/mobile OS to attract attention. Look how many "iPhone killers" have failed. Ps check out Modern Combat: Sandstorm and Real Racing. Amazing iPhone games. better than nds graphically, less than psp. Ps: cydia has a ps1 emulator
