the psp that comes for 169 is the core package, it just comes with the psp, the battery, manual, and the charger |

Well aslong as it can be downgraded and can run homebrewed its ok i guess right?? I dont wanna have to wait tell the 20th to send the money out then another week or 2 later to receive so if i could get it on the 20th it would be great.....dont it come with the 32 mb mem card???Also i was reading that guide on how to run isos/cso's of your game rips off your pc harddrive is that possible without a umd in the psp and no memory card? |

inorder to up/downgrade the fw your psp and run homebrew you will need to have a mem stick. To run sio/cso's off the pc you need to have a umd, no video umd's will work tho. the best thing to do when you get money is to buy a 2gb mem styick check the computer store circulars you caN get one for like $40, that way you can take your cso's with you, and be able to install custom firmware |

For the umd disc does it matter if its a demo or what...and is there a way to rent like 10 games and shrink them down to 1 gb or does iso compressor not do that...i just dont buy it and then all the sudden i cant upgrade or downgrade after i buy it...Im really getting anxious on waiting to get the psp i can feel it lol...I dont like my 360 no more so i sold it after sitting on it from dusk tell dawn i got bored of it..what i think is sweet about the psp is you can sit on the comp and surf the web and chat and play ur psp at the same time...im thinking after awhile bout buying one of them adapters that hook up from ur psp to the tv...that IMO would be a great investment. |

you can use the demo disc.
to shrink your iso games is very easy you can convert the iso to cso use a program called yacc iso shrinker .

The psp's web browser is not too much to get excited about, it is really slow and typing is tedious.
Edit: Use the begginer's guide to seeing what motherboard and firmware you have from the box to see your options, if you can find a 2.71 psp then you should just buy it at gamestop. If you can't find a 2.71 psp I would go one ebay to find one. My friend just bought a psp this past week and it was a 2.71 so you should be good for buying it a gamestop.

What is devhook?? I need to take a class on all this it seems lol Anyway i wish there were more supported games for n64...Also i was just wondering if 2.71 is a good f/w or if thats the common one they sell at gamestop or walmart because i dont think i want a 3.03 psp...Im gonna do some searching some more on all this stuff for a little bit and see what i get out of it.
edit: Sorry for the double post but no one responded to my last one..I was just wondering since my gurl works at Wal-Mart im just gonna have her get it there cause she gets a discount but i was wondering if anyone had purchased there psp from Wal-Mart and if so what f/w is it,because i was looking on there site and they said there version psp-1001 is that 1.5 f/w?? Just curious about that, and also was wondering when i shrink the isos if it takes all the music outta the game or the important music when u make them dummy files? |

Use the search button (type in devhook, and i guarantee you will find lots of info). If no one has responded, just wait. Any firmware 3.03 or lower can be downgraded so it really does not matter what you get as long as you get a 3.03 or lower. Devhook is not used anymore really, its been replaced by custom firmware. Shrinking an ISO can be done different ways. So times you remove files and if you remove the music files then yes the music will be gone. Other methods just compress the data (like a zip file) and uncompress it on the fly while you play. |

i think that the highest firmware you could get is 3.03, since walmart doesn't get a new shipment of psp's every week, they only get a new shipment to stock the shelves, but if you get a 1.5 you wouldn't have to worry about downgrading. It depends on what you rip out. you can rip out the background music or all of. personally i ripped out the radio music to my vice city stories because hearing the same songs from the eighties gave me a headache, and took off about 170mb. |

Ohh, ic so its up to the persons preference on what type of music they want or not...I hear you should remove all the f/w updates on all the iso/cso's correct??? I went back on Julies sticky and i wrote it on a piece of paper so when me n my gurl go back to wallyworld i can check what type of mobo and f/w it has on it.Im just gonna use fastloader and umdgen since devhook is i guess worthless..Anymore suggestions? After i get my psp ill be happy to tell ya guys what f/w and mobo it has so u guys can help me from there. LONG LIVE THIS THREAD! |
