that is awesome. You should post a step by step guide to installing it.
@ The beginner: It should as long as the tiny bit of cable is connected to the PSP's internal antenna, as even if it's still 801.1b it'll still amplify the signal of the PSP. Same logic behind the cell phone antenna boosters |

Yes, it does. I gained about a 20% connection to each access point, and I gained 2 more in my room, 3 more from my couch. It does drain a little more power it seems like, but for the difference in connections, it was well worth it. |

It's a wifi antenna not a TV antenna.
Also it's expected to drain more power. Just be weary of possibly overheating it |

I won't do a step by step with pics. Atleast not until I get a better camera. But basically I took an exacto, and a lighter, heated it, and make the hole for the antenna. Then just ziptied the antenna and connector and put in on. I forget the name for the connector, but almost ALL internal WiFi connections have the same tiny connector. In this case it did so I just took out the internal antenna and connected this one. The only part I really consider a mod was cutting the hole.
I eventually would like a hacked FW to be able to use my dead ipod's 30GB hd. Every game I have takes up about 40GBs, and they are all ISO's and work instantly after putting them on my memory stick. If i stick an ipod HD where the UMD's go, I will rip out that UMD cage, and drill a hole for the antenna connector, so it sticks out the top. But that will be far down the road, if it ever happens.
And yes, it is a WiFi antenna. Same function as the internal antenna, just much better. And bigger. |

On the Hard drive there is actually something I've seen, dunno if it's still available, that plugs into the memory stick slot, and reads the 40 gig HD as a memory stick. |

Yea, but it can't read or write to all 40GBs.

that's a bit bulky but very well done. I applaud you. I also believe the PSP firmware can handle at max 4gig partitions...which, I could very well be mistaken. |

I am going to do some research in a little bit. Thanks for the comments everyone :]. I have done a bunch of cheap computer mods, but this was my first hardmod for my PSP. |
