8 GB MC, $110 shipped, has anyone tried it?
Hello from Maine,
Has anyone tried these? 8gb psp, Accessories, Parts, Accessories items on eBay.com
I am going to order one...
Cheers

Update!
---------------------
Hey! I bought and received this one: ~NEW~ Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo 8GB * For PSP * - (eBay item 270161820392 end time Sep-05-07 17:25:18 PDT)
and it works a treat!
It was already formatted, though unopened, so it was factory formatted. It works at full speed, and the PSP tells me it is "magic gate" when I select "information".
I am not affiliated with the seller, I just thought I tell you guys one source for legit 8GB memory sticks.
This one was in a factory sealed Sony package (heat sealed hard plastic) and came with an adapter (not needed for PSP). So, if scouring ePay for one - get one that fits that description (to avoid counterfiets)
All games I tested ran at full speed! Load time was not at all bad.
I recommend it
Cheers,
Craig

Memory based items on ebay are about 90% fake or non-functional. Anything really from asia is bound to be fake. 110 for a 8GB stick, I don't think so. |

be careful there are some that say right in the auction that they are fakes. i would go to circuit city and pick up a couple of4 gig sandisk ones that are 59 bucks right now.

What is the difference? Why is generic MC bad? Is this a matter of "name brand" or have you personally found errors with generic MC?
Cheers,
Craig

worst mistake. It works for all data purposes but when it comes to psp games, it craps out in the middle of the game or corrupt your saved data. At first I though it was just the game, but as I transfered it to my good sandisk card, nothing was wrong for hours of play.
So fake card in the long run will cause problems. I'm no expert but I would never buy memory card from ebay again. Besides... they are hella slow to load as well. Now I just stick to sandisk and sandisk ultra II.
Good luck on yours. |

there are actually tutorials online to determine if a card is fake or not, but just to be on the safe side, i would go to a different source. i actually got a 4gig of amazon really cheap and it wasn't fake. i would check there if i was you.

I just checked the sellers feedback and I found this.
4GB limited to 2GB and very slow. Not a genuine Sony, i opened it. Be careful !!
so do not trust that seller, if he sells fake then all the other MS will be fake. |
