Wait untill chipable?

I've been planning on buying the PSP Slim for a while, but I've got two options... Either I wait untill the firmware is hacked so that I can get a chipped version of the Slim.... or I could get the Slim and have it chipped later.

Currently there are one or two shops nearby who chip the normal PSP, so finding somewhere to chip the thing is no problem.

Also, if one option is a bit more expensive then the other, that doesn't really matter... tis not really about the money in the case.

To downgrade them its usually better to do it by the firmware rather than installing that dam thing in it...
It all depends if your willing to wait until they find an exploit of some sort with the official sony firmware on the slim so you can start using it with all those ps1 games and the emulators for other gaming systems...

i agree with extra.. unless you have mad experience soldering electronics, the mod chips are too difficult to put in... and expensive at that.
If i were you, i would go out and buy a slim.. and just leave it in the package.. if its not hacked by christmas, give your brother or sister a nice present.
i dont have any expectations of it.. its just one of sonys things... lets make people who already bought a psp buy a new one that offers no real changes so we can try to make money.... but then again.. its probably the fault of the people like myself who have 132 isos..
