Exclamation The New PSP Analog Stick PROBLEM!!!

I am having some serious problems with my new PSP. I owned an old PSP...the bigger black one....and i remember getting sick of that dinky little flat plastic analog stick very fast. I soon found that they sold analog replacements sticks in stores...i bought them....life was good. So when i bought my new PSP....i just as fast as last time got sick of the ridiculous analog stick they chose to put on it. So....off to the store i go to buy the three pack of analog sticks....grey black and blue...you know the ones. When i got home though....i try prying off my analog stick to replace it and it didn't give. So i went into the kitchen because i thought i had the perfect tool for my problem....a little hotdog picker upper. It has two small circular metal parts that can be squeezed together. So i get it placed under the analog stick and pull VERY hard and it seems like it was breaking so i stopped. So.....my question....does anyone else have the new silver PSP from the entertainment package....or can anyone tell me if there is a way to change out the lame analog stick it came with....with another analog stick? ...preferably the ones i bought. (the grey black and blue ones....you know the ones i am talking about.)

PLEASE HELP ME!!! I am really mad about this whole thing and would be very happy to be playing my PSP with a decent analog stick!!!Thank you very much for your time!!!

I have no idea if you can switch out the analog stick with a slim is it even the same size?

Default The New PSP Analog Stick PROBLEM!!!

i know exactly what ur talking about. i have a new slim psp and trying to put the blue analog stick on it they sold in that pack of 3. The psp fat has it where the analog stick just pops off easily and u can just snap on a new bigger and better one. The psp slim however has it like superglued, i tried so hard also to pry it off, maybe they dont want us to use the extra anlog sticks they sold seperately before. ill try again later being i have a warranty on it for replacement lol

Angry The New PSP Analog Stick PROBLEM!!!

so....since i bought my psp slim from frys electronics they were really nice about letting me return it. so...i wanted to get the regular psp....so i went to the psp section and got the "black psp".....mind you i was in a really hurry and have been kinda stressed lately.....so i am sitting in my car before a meeting i had and i opened up the psp.....looked at it and was like "OH NOoo!". It felt the same as my psp slim....so i did a quick check through....looked at the little clasp that should have been made of metal....and it was plastic.....i checked the UMD drive....it was the same as the one i had just returned.....i realized then i had just bought a frickin psp slim again! so....tomorrow i am gonna have to go back to frys electronics once again and attempt another return with the only reason for returning....my stupidness. i doubt there will be a problem returning it though since frys is really cool. but i looked around and they dont even sell the old psp anymore....scary. that was really fast....how could they be out of the regular psps? when i went to buy a new psp in the first place i didn't even know of the psp slim and they are already out of the originals.....re3diculous. And why do they not put anywhere on the box that you are not buying a psp original but a psp slim....seriously. i know a little bit about computers and games and even i made the mistake TWICE! people who dont play games or know anything about the different psp systems will have no clue they just bought a psp slim....they might not even realize after they play it. ....well i just wanted to let you all know how i got pwnd by sony twice in a row....and to shed a little frustration....i also apologize if this post sounds like crap....i usually spoell check and make sure it is understandable when i read it through....but i am gonna go play some games. peace

Default The New PSP Analog Stick PROBLEM!!!

Just got my slim, and looking at it I dont think the analog "stick" part is replaceable.

It appears to be a solid piece that goes all the way into the actual analog stick assembly, and not something you can just pop off and replace like the old PSP's.

My advice would be figure out how big you want the nub to be and cut the top off one of those big gangly analog stick replacements, and superglue it in place.

Im not an expert on warantee (I just void them) but I dont think that would void yours. At least, its not opening it.

Even if you did open it, unless they make a replacement piece specificly for the slim its not going to do any good.

Red face The New PSP Analog Stick PROBLEM!!!

that actually is a good idea......i should have thought of that. i returned that black psp slim i bought to frys....this time they were alot omre stubborn than last time....and they refused to give me cash back....all i could get was store credit....and since they don't even have the old psps in stock anymore i was stuck with once again getting the dexter combo pack. so yepp....i have the ice silver psp slim....as i walked through the psp isle i saw they had a clear cover for your psp that turns the directional pad into an analog stick, covers the buttons, and covers the screen.....it doesn't fit my psp slim....once again those bastards got me! well....i am going to be surfing this site alot...slowly but surely pimping out my psp. i am new to modding so all the help i can get will be greatly appreciated.

My PSP Slim Wishlist: LED's (as many as i can put on it without having serious battery issues), Gamecube and GBA emulators, and most definately....A NEW ANALOG STICK!!!, i also thought i heard something about having two analog sticks....that would be awesome....but wouldn't the games have to be programmed for that? i dunno.
