The company has said it hooks into the "motherboard" of the psp with no soddering. I don't trust this thing. The company has never release a chip before (like a lot of other have for ps2 mod chips and such). I would definitely hold out on this. See what happens after the first batch gets sold and see what people say about how it works and how easy it is to install. I know I do not have a steady enough hand to sodder a chip to the main board of the psp. I have never opened my psp but from images i have seen of the inside of a psp, it looks like its already pretty full and the connections on the board are pretty close together so chances of accidentaly connecting two points by smearing the soddering material or using too much soddering material seem high. I know they say no soddering but I can't recall any mod chip that just plugs in with no soddering.

also, if you think about it.... all solderless mod chips suck major ballz too. drizzle is right, they have no community credit yet... so i would hold off right now before i invest in something that may damage my investment.

Yea, they have no community credit, and, ebay? cmon, EBAY?!?!?!? The only thing I can understand about selling on ebay is so that the price really isn't 23 dollars, since they are only making 100 for the first batch, the demand is pretty high, they will sell for around 75+ in my opinion. Also, depending on its size, there is no way it will fit.

I think if this thing is real the team that put it together should give out like 30 free ones to get people to try it and give out posative feedback..... hey if it works, what are they gonna loose? after you get all of the posative feedback alot of people are gonna order it and they will make their money back.

As far as I am aware eBay will not let you sell mod-chips anyway.

Yeah, I think selling modchips on Ebay is illegal, but a couple years ago I bought a pre-modded PS2 from there and they were non the wiser. So, I don't know how well Ebay monitors the products that go up for sell.

A little late on the bandwagon but hey!

Its past the susposed "release date" has anyone dove in?

Anyway I think they are full of shit, heres why:
The installation is described as "does not require any soldering, but you will need to replace some of the wires on the motherboard" Ok, lets think about this..... I used to test circuit boards for a living, now, think about this the psp mainboard as shown here:

Ok, nottice that all the chips are all very small surface mounties, and everything is very crowded like a laptop. Also, nottice there are no wires on the mainboad, even if there where they would be soldered onto the board as I have NEVER seen an internal board with wire plugs. And I seriously doubt that they would have you flywire it as that is not exactly the safest way to go abouts it.

Now, think about the size of the internal components of the PSP, look how big that UMD drive is. Oh and not to mention the screen and control sticks take up about 40% of the space, with the last 60 being used up by the mainboard umd drive, battery and other whatnot. look at the picture they released.

Hrm...... if thats the end of a soldering pencil, which is kinda what it looks like (cant tell for sure because of thier terrible quality) which would make the chip about 2"x2" and god knows how thick... Where in gods name that gunna go? What components would you have to take out to get that to work? Would it mount on the outside? Who are these nuts? All valid questions.

I could keep going but I think I have said enough, I just hope someone proves me wrong, I want to upgrade as much as the rest of you.
